Causes: Diseases of Specific Organs, Health, Pediatrics, Specifically Named Diseases
Mission: To improve the health and quality of life of women with and at risk of developing diabetes.
Programs: Weekend for women conference series - an educational, supportive and motivational weekend for women with diabetes. The conference series, held in various locations throughout the us, brings together women with diabetes to learn from leading experts in the field and to learn from one another. The conference series is the premier forum for women with all kinds of diabetes (type1, type2, gestational, lada, etc. ), providing peer support and education with topics in new technology, travel tips, pregnancy, exercise and many more.
pods meetup program - pods (part of diabetessisters) meetups are a national signature program of the organization. Meeting monthly in over 30 locations throughout the us, these meetups provide a safe, nonjudgemental environment for women with diabetes to focus on their health. Led by women with diabetes, the meetup program offers peer to peer support as well as educational topics for discussion.
general education and support- various programs such as webinars, e-newsletters, to enhance overall experience of members by enriching them with information on how to better manage diabetes.
