Mission: Through its programs, Dharma Road seeks to light the way toward a deeper understanding of the common ground shared by spirituality and art. As performers and creative artists, our work is not to try to make anything happen. Just the opposite. Through practicing grounding, acceptance, and connecting with the Self in each of us, we seek to free ourselves from the breathless tyranny of thought and make manifest the glory of God that is within us. The purpose of art is to raise consciousness, and for the artist to accomplish this great work, he must raise his own. He must undertake the journey to discover himself and shine the light for others to follow. That?s the journey of Dharma Road. The Dharma Mission - to support the creative careers of its seven founding artists (Harold Lehmann, Sita Mani, Jean Hughes Miredin, Christopher Pelham, Lake Simons, Guido Tuveri, and Holly Twining); - to develop a community of physically trained dance theatre performing artists; - to shepherd emerging & international artists into the NYC performing arts community.
