Programs: Desert mission offers several free and reduced cost food programs to assist working poor families. Additionally, we provide nutrition education and community based case management programs to assist clients reach self-sufficiency. Also included are workforce development and financial coaching.
lincoln learning center - offers quality childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Lincoln learning center is accredited by the national academy of early childhood programs (naeyc).
adult day healthcare - offers an intergenerational environment for physically and/or cognitively impaired seniors to remain active and independent. It also gives family caregivers much needed respite care.
Though gainfully employed at the moment, my spouse, who is the TRANS-GENDEREDTRAILBLAZER a published author and I volunteer at the DESERT MISSION FOOD BANK and it is wonderful, heartfelt experience. The full time volunteers and the paid staff are doing more with less to the point you could ALMOST swear there is some sort of beautification being performed on a daily basis.
