Programs: Educational website and learning community (encyclopedia & education):work includes developing an educational website to provide a fundamental reference and resource on japanese american history. Program also offers teacher training course that uses oral histories and primary sources to educate students about racial justice and civil liberties, both in the past and today.
digital repository (digital repository & infrastructure):program creates a web-accessible repository of high quality contents on japanese american history for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.
interview and other programs:work includes interviews, transcription and digitization for the densho website archive. Program offers access to examine critical issues affecting past and present civil liberties of japanese americans from immigration in the early 1900's through redress in the 1980's with a focus on the world war ii incarceration.
I think Densho is a worthy nonprofit and this is my first donation to the organization; however, the time to load each page of the online donation process took forever (at least 5 min./page). I was patient enough to get through the process, but I recommend the process be speeded up to minimize losing potential donors.
