I've been watching Democracy Now! non-stop since Bush invaded Iraq in 2003. As a news source, DN! is invaluable. It does not accept one penny of corporate funds and makes it's daily one-hour program available for free on TV, radio, internet and in print. Amy Goodman & her team presents the news that the mainstream media will not touch. Rather than relying upon government spokespeople or corporate pundits, DN! turns to the people on the ground who are most effected by events. DN! is an award-winning news program because it delivers the news in historical context and provides in-depth analysis. There are millions of us who can't live without it and it needs our support to continue its essential work.

Democracy Now was a great source of information during the Bush administration and I considered Amy Goodman a trail blazer, but the program from about 2008 forward turned into a mouthpiece for the extreme left propaganda machine. Their news about Libya was a joke and their program worked day and night to justify an illegal act of war, they pushed for war against Assad by claiming the use of chemical weapons when it is a fact and we now know it was perpetrated by the West and the program consistently attempts to sell the very same type of lies the Bush administration peddled. They flipped 180 degrees. No doubt the program can offer some good information on Black Water, WikiLeaks and a few other things, but with the over all scheme of things they paint the world in a very deceptive way. I would NOT recommend Democray Now! to anyone at this point. Websites like ZeroHedge.com have a grip on reality and provide deep analysis on economics.

Democracy Now produces a daily news show that is wonderful and as objective as a program can be, not biased like most mainstream media in the US, but looks for alternative viewpoints to present and spends time analyzing issues. Not afraid to offend corporate sponsors, picking on politicians of all parties, getting viewpoints of other countries. If you watch it, you'll see what I mean. Maybe not love it, but respect it for its freedom from normal biases.

Democracy Now! covers the stories no one else will cover, and they treat every report the same-with angles toward how a group or person is being mistreated. No political party gets a break of any kind!

I first heard Amy Goodman speak when she was the keynote speaker at an American Library Association's conference, and I was so impressed that I searched for and found the podcast of her radio show, Democracy Now.

I've been listening for years, and have found that her team is often FAR ahead of even NPR with important world news, accurately reported, and with many first-person interviews with people involved in the incidents/events/movements being reported.

The people who work with Ms. Goodman come from all over the world, from all socioeconomic and educational attainments, and are well-informed and well-spoken.
