DVAU is an amazing organization. I admire their dedication and fight for the separation of church and state. They play an intricate part in our society and of Americans United and their presence is made well known throughout the Delaware valley area. I have volunteered my time to help them out at special events and I can say that I am very impressed on how well versed they are on constitutional law. We need more groups like this one to be more involved in representing and upholding the principles this country was founded on. In today's society, separation of church and state has become a very hot topic, we are fortunate enough to have DVAU by our side when we push back against theocratic encroachment.
Great organization! Love that people of different ideologies are working TOGETHER to keep the wall of separation up and ensure freedoms for religious and non-religious alike!
Editorials in our local paper have helped to make people aware that not everyone has the same views regarding the mix of government and religion. It is important to remember that our country includes people of many different beliefs and philosophies. DVAU is helping to remind people of this.
This Church/State watch dog group insures that a healthy separation is kept between religion and government. I've found they are not anti-religion but are committed to religious liberties for all.
Their work is critical especially in these days of over zealous, far-right theocratic advocates who view the U.S. as a Christian nation in spite of our religious plurality.
We're an vanguard group keeping an eye on local events related to church-state separation on behalf of our national organization. Upcoming issues include attempts to implement school vouchers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Americans United is the only national organization that devotes one-hundred percent of its time and resources to church/state separation. Through public education and advocacy, Americans United works to preserve religious liberty and freedom of conscience as guaranteed by our Constitution. The Delaware Valley AU Chapter, DVAU, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization whose primary mission is to provide a grassroots presence for the education and advocacy work of the national organization, and to act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of Americans United in the defense of religious liberty in the local community.
Delaware Valley AU (DVAU) serves the greater Delaware Valley, with Regional Committees in Bucks County, Philadelphia, and South Jersey. DVAU hosts educational talks from church-state experts, videos and chats, panel discussions, and other events in and around the Delaware Valley.
We provide speakers to churches, civic organizations, and other community groups to discuss church-state separation issues. We do tabling at events throughout the Philadelphia area. DVAU’s Board Members are available to speak to the media. We report potential church-state violations to AU’s national office for review. We watch courts and legislators in PA, NJ and DE to make sure our religious freedoms are protected. We are nonpartisan, nonprofit, and nondiscriminatory. Americans United seeks to unite people from all faiths or religious outlooks to work together to support Jefferson’s Wall of Separation.
