Mission: Advocate for inclusive community practices and influence public policy for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Programs: Monitoring programs - focusing on the needs of consumers receiving services funded through the delaware county office of mental retardation, the arc of delaware county gathers information regarding consumer's satisfaction with the support they receive and life outcomes, contributes to the identification of "best practices- and utilizes the data to continuously improve the quality of services and support provided to consumers with developmental disabilities and their families in delaware county.
advocacy and education programs - provide one-on-one advocacy, referrals to community organizations, parent support groups, as well as collaboration with similar mission driven organizations. Systemic legislative advocacy - work at all levels of government to influence public policy and awareness toward persons with disabilities.
social interaction - provide outings, dances and recreational activities for persons with developmental disabilities, as well as inclusion in community events and respite.
member services - advocacy, guardianship and education, providing one-on- one advocacy, referrals to community organizations, parent support groups and assistance in educational planning.
