This fantastic organization was the brainchild of one woman, Nancy Weare, who brought together a group of citizens interested in providing support and services to underserved seniors and persons with special needs in our small city, enabling them to remain a vital part of the community and helping them to continue living safely and independently in their own homes. Now, many years later, first as a Founding Board Member, then a Volunteer, and now also a Client Served, I see DMCC continuing to grow and change in service of it's clients' needs and desires for community involvement.

Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: Dmcc is a volunteer driven organization providing programs and services to allow our maturing seniors to live safely and independently in the homes they love.
Programs: Transportation volunteers from the community provide rides for medical visits and a van is operated for door to door trips to the grocery and drug stores. Discounted taxi vouchers are sold as part of the city of del mar's dial-a-ride program. These programs are administered by dmcc employees.
housing del mar community connections administers the rental subsidy program and shared housing program under a contract with the city of del mar.
The van is used to bring house bound residents to the community center to eat lunch and participate in a program or socialize with each other.
