While many people are familiar with large organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Debbie's Dream Foundation, while much smaller, plays an incredibly important role helping to counsel and advise those affected specifically with stomach cancer. Debbie (the founder) is an amazing inspiration to those facing adversity with grace and determination. What she has built with Debbie's Dream foundation is truly incredible.

As a Board Member, participating with DDF advocacy day is an unbelievable experience. We are able to experience first hand how the federal legislature operates, and advocate for funding from the federal government.

The organization as a hole has grown exponentially over the years, due to our President Debra Zelman and her unbelievable team at the office.

I have enjoyed every moment serving as a Board member with Debbie's Dream Foundation, and look forward to many wonderful experiences in the future, as we assist in finding a cure for stomach cancer. My professional background as a fundraiser should allow me to facilitate the raising of the one thing that all non-profit organizations need: MONEY!!

I recently joined the team here at Debbie's Dream Foundation as a healthcare intern to learn about the organization's role in the community and the impact it has on the lives of those who are affected by Stomach Cancer. I am moved and inspired by the staff who work tirelessly to bring valuable educational resources and support to patients and caregivers, providing a source of hope and comfort, and a sense that no one has to go through it alone. I am very happy to be working here and every day, I am increasingly impressed by what is happening here at Debbie's Dream Foundation. This is an awesome organization.

Great organization for an illness that is little known. There are a lot of cancers but very little is know about stomach cancer. Two yrs ago my son was diagnosed with stomach cancer & had to have his entire stomach removed. Getting onto the web to find out answers to questions we had was a great start but having an organization like this was just what we needed to fulfill everything about this life changing illness.

At 29 years old, a stomach cancer diagnosis is not something you expect to hear. After reaching out to Debbie's Dream, I was quickly contacted. They put me in touch with a wonderful mentor who educated and supported me throughout my entire stomach cancer journey. I am so grateful for this amazing organization!!! I'm so happy to report I have no evidence of disease!

This is a great non-profit that provides unique and valuable information for a marginalized illness that skews towards the later stages of cancer.
The prep mentor program provided me and my wife a well needed glimpse of the other side of a very scary journey. The support is literally pricesless, and the opportunity to fight for a cure has provided a new purpose as well as a means to take action.

Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer (DDF) is the premier stomach (gastric) cancer organization. It raises money for research directly through fundraisers and indirectly through advocacy initiatives in Washington, DC. Even though stomach cancer kills more than 10,000 people a year, this cancer gets the least federal funding per cancer death of any cancer, and DDF is working to change that profile in DC. In addition, DDF raises awareness about stomach cancer in the hope that people can get diagnosed at any early stage when the chances of survival are better. Now 80% of stomach cancers are not diagnosed until Stage IV, when the disease is incurable and the chance of surviving five years is 4%. DDF also has a unique Patient Resource and Education Program (PREP) which provides education and support internationally to patients, families and caregivers. The website, www.DebbiesDream.org contains a wealth of information in one place. DDF has an incredible Medical Advisory Board of leading physicians from the top cancer centers in the nation, and each year some of them come to Florida to participate in a Stomach Cancer Symposium which can be accessed through a webinar. These symposia are archived on the website. Every stomach cancer patient will benefit from contacting Debbie's Dream Foundation which now has 23 chapters, 20 in the US, 2 in Canada, and one in Germany.
