The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation does a terrific job in assisting many great teachers and their students, to obtain needed materials used to inspire their students to excel in many different areas. They are a excellent example of a community organization working to inspire our next generation to greatness.

Dearborn County Retired Teachers donates nearly every dollar earned back to local schools. They are extremely supportive of our schools, teachers, and students.
Upon retirement I became a part of the foundation committee for the Dearborn County Retired Teachers. Countless hours are donated to insure that classroom teachers have what they need to provide quality education. The committee volunteers time working events so that money will be given to fund grants. Businesses also donate to our cause. I have worked fairs, races, and teacher sales. Not only do you get the satisfaction knowing the money goes to a good cause, but new friends are made and your efforts are truly appreciated.
I have received 3 grants from Dearborn County Retired Teachers. These are extremely helpful for acquiring materials for my classroom and my Makerspace club. I highly recommend trying to receive one of these grants from this wonderful organization.
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation Inc. is an outstanding non-profit organization that helps students, teachers, and local schools in general. This organization has aided our small, private school in the past and has enabled our teachers to provide learning tools that make our students outstanding, 21st-century learners. This year they granted me a $500 grant to support our new, state of the art STEAM Center.
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation Inc. is a wonderful non-profit group that does so many great things for their community!

They have fully funded my free voluntary reading program for my French students. My students have interesting, comprehensible French books that they enjoy reading in class. I am more than thrilled that I was able to offer this program to my students through the help of the Dearborn County Retired Teacher Foundation Inc.!
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers continue to volunteer in our community in many ways. Perhaps the most recognized service we provide, though, is to award $500 grants to deserving teachers so that they can incorporate innovative and creative projects into their classrooms. We fund these grants by working money-making community activities, seeking monies from local interested individuals and businesses, and by partnering with the Dearborn County Foundation. The feedback from the funded teachers and students let us know this endeavor is making a difference.
I received a grant to purchase more supplies and equipment for a playschool program that is operated by high school students in an Adv. Child Development Class. This program allows the high school students to plan, prepare and teach preschool aged children to explore the field of education through a hands on experience.
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation, Inc., a 501(c ) 3, is a group of retired teachers in Dearborn Co., IN, who support the active teachers in our county. We give an annual $500 grant/award to an active teacher in our local schools. Unfortunately, we are the only such group in our county working in behalf of active teachers in our communities. The teacher must apply and then is selected anonymously at a general meeting of the retired teachers. Receipts must be presented in order to obtain the money to be used in the classroom. Consideration is given to innovative/creative teaching and those whose project would have the most impact on the greatest number of students. The website for our organization is dearborncountyrta.org. Complete documentation and explanation of our process can be given upon request. As retired teachers we feel that we are in a unique position to help the active teachers as we can readily recognize good and innovative teaching. Help us help the students in our area schools.
