Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Civil Rights, Disabilities, Disabled Persons Rights, Ear & Throat Diseases, Health, Human Services, Rehabilitative Care
Mission: It is our vision that quality of life will not be limited by hearing loss. Through prevention and accommodation, assistive technology and community acceptance, full potential of persons with hearing loss shall be realized.
Target demographics: the deaf and hard of hearing community
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 12,250 individuals with their hearing needs and assistance.
Geographic areas served: West Palm Beach and assist all of Palm Beach County
Programs: We offer four main programs: Through our partnership with Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc., we offer free specialized telephones that help you hear your callers more clearly. Our Hearing Wellness Center offers free comprehensive hearing evaluations and a full line of hearing aids, dispensed (only if needed) in a personal, no-pressure nonprofit environment. We help educate the community about the impacts of hearing loss on those who are directly affected as well as those who are indirectly affected – which is all of us! And we help those experiencing hearing loss to be self-sufficient, live independently, and access a healthy lifestyle from the time they are very young and through to their senior years.
