Mission: Doves mission is to provide culturally accessible services that empower and offer hope to deaf or hard of hearing individuals who experience abuse.
Programs: Key accomplishments 2017 provided individual advocacy and support services to over 150 ddbddhh victims/survivors of abuse created and released six educational videos on our youtube channel conducted annual 30-hour volunteer advocates training, with two new vas joining our pool of volunteers provided 9 youth advocacy & prevention workshops to a total of 142 ddbddhh youth provided 33 trainings to a total of 687 service providers provided 9 educational workshops to a total of 120 ddbddhh community members and victims/survivors awarded a new project-based grant from colorado commission for the deaf and hard of hearing to conduct three all-day group equine therapy sessions for ddbddhh survivors co-hosted the 2nd access summit, an all-day training for 120 human service providers in partnership with asian pacific development center, denver indian family resource center, domestic violence initiative, muslim family services, survivors organizing for liberation, and wings foundation; summit addressed dismantling access barriers for survivors from underserved and/or marginalized communities co-facilitated the 3rd survivors healing retreat with sego lily center for the abused deaf (sister agency in utah), a five-day healing retreat in nature that served a total of 14 ddbddhh survivors from colorado and across the nation raised 14,000 with support of our community members during our annual benefit celebration, themed and the award goes to
