Mission: As a non for profit we engaged in empowering immigrants and refugees, putting special attention to the well-being of women and young people specifically. Our efforts can be summarized like this. Health promotion through culturally sensitive health programs aiming at the well-being of the population facilitation of language proficiency by means of a limited number of education programs; the knowing of a language is deemed as a determinant of economic bearing correspondence of the need of food through a provided culturally sensitive food bank for maintaining the usual and proper nutrition for the families Trying to fill the uneven levels of children’s education through mentoring programming in and out of the classroom. Utilization of a range of services to help eliminate vice of homelessness within the community
Results: One of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to assisting the community is by maintaining an open-door policy where every member is always welcome and through developing several support programs. Few of the areas where active projects are being undertaken to solve these problems include the following. There is a very strong food assistance programme that ensures that more than 200 individuals are fed at Wamsutta Food Cupboard each week. For those who wish to quit using tobacco, these approaches are known to work and have been very effective especially for the already addicted individuals. (We have successfully delivered mental health and wellness seminars that have empowered more than 100 women within this year.
