Mission: The dayton philharmonic volunteer association was created in 1952 with an ongoing mission to support the dayton philharmonic orchestra in the areas of education, promotion, fundraising and membership development.
Programs: To provide monetary support to the dayton philharmonic orchestra. Multiple events are arranged for this purpose by this volunteer organization such as members9 socials, luncheons, teas, dinners, holiday gatherings, neighbors9 parties, year in review, opening night gala and a bi-annnual designer showhouse. Musical instrument collection drives are used to fund the orchestra and provide instruments to young needy musicians.

Additional program expenses related to costs of music competitions, hiring of judges, preparation for solo and ensemble contests, summer music camps and costs of tuning and repairing instruments. Community education programs are also funded that provide enhanced details regarding performance material presented by the dayton philharmonic orchestra to all ages.
