The workers at the Day Worker Center of Mountain View are amazing! They work hard, have many skills, and are helpful and respectful. The Day Worker Center is a democratic non-profit organization. The workers participate in making the procedures. For example, after a job, one of our wonderful volunteers call the employer for feedback. Almost all of the time the feedback is great, but in the rare cases where something could be improved, the worker receives constructive suggestions so he or she can do better next time! The center has daily English classes so the workers study while they wait for jobs. Then, when an employer arrives, workers that are in class, (with suitable skills), are given priority to go to work. Please drop by the center to visit. It is a wonderful place!

I have used Day Workers from the Center for many years. Without a doubt, this is one of the most mutually helpful situtions I've encountered. I have had a multitude of projects done around my home and gardens by the the Day Workers and have been very pleased with the results.

I have been a volunteer for the Day Worker Center for over five years. It is very well run and a great place for people to find reliable workers for their tasks at their homes, etc.

I have hired workers to work at my home from the Day Worker Center of Mountain View, CA for many years. The workers have always been very hard-working, honest people. It is a great resource to have in the community. Several people that I have hired through the organization continued to work for me on a regular basis.

Great service! If I had known how easy this was, I would have used the service a long time ago for all my home projects. I have complete peace of mind using this service rather than picking up a dayworker near Home Depot. I needed a person to plant shrubs in my front garden, clean window screens, wash windows, and help with a clean out of my yards so I could go to the dump. I called ahead and Maria was very nice and explained the program to me. I arrived Saturday morning and filled out a short 1-page order form. In a few minutes she introduced me to Roberto Jiminez who was about as old as I am but in much better physical condition. He spoke enough English so we could communicate, and Maria said I could call her and put him on the phone if he wasn't understanding my directions. I didn't need to do that. Roberto worked hard without much supervision and made suggestions or asked questions as needed. I treated him to lunch and took him back to the center at the end of the day. Although $10 an hour pay is the minimum, I decided to pay $12 an hour for a living wage. It was well worth it and I got all my projects done in 8 hours. Contrary to the myth I heard, you do not need to hire the worker for a full 8 hours. Finally, I must tell you that Roberto told me how he likes coming to this dayworker center because of how it is organized, and that you can buy $2 meals at the church as you are waiting for work to come in. I must also tell you this last bit. When we first went to the center, Maria was talking to about 20 young people in Spanish. At first I thought these were the dayworkers but noticed they were all young. Later, Maria explained that they were students learning Spanish and they were coming over to work with the dayworkers one-on-one to help the dayworkers improve their English. Talk about strategic planning. This Dayworker Center gets 5 stars from a very satisfied customer!

This is a great outfit! They serve the community in many ways. I have used them several times and have always gotten friendly, hardworking people to help me with gardening, housecleaning, stone work, and heavy lifting. The center serves the workers by providing many services such as English classes and I have seen health care vans there, too. The center always calls to follow up on the workers after the job is done.
