Causes: Citizen Participation
Programs: Alabama issues forums: officially launched at the 2017 civic institute, this forum series will span three years. The conclusion will coincide with alabama's ceebration of its bicentennial. Each community will host three forums, focused on topics of community, economic and workforce development. Coaching community innovation: cci introduces new communities to the pratice of delibration, and gives them an opportunity to become familair with the format of a public forum designed to engage their local community. Coaching community innovation workshop equip alabamians to idenity an issue of public concern, find common ground amoung differing perspectives, and move towards collective action. During 2017, the mathews center conducted twentyfive cci workshops.
