Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Arts & Culture, History Museums

Mission: The mission of the sixth floor museum at dealey plaza is to chronicle the assassination and legacy of president john f. Kennedy; interpret the dealey plaza national historic landmark district and the john f. Kennedy memorial plaza; and present contemporary culture within the context of presidential history. These interpretive goals--as set out by the mission--are accomplished through exhibitions, public and educational programs, access to collections via the museum's reading room and online collections database and through social media platforms such as facebook, instagram, twitter and youtube. The museum's institutional vision is to be an impartial, multi-generational destination and forum for exploring the memory and effects of the assassination of president kennedy, through sharing his legacy and its impact on an ever-changing global society. This vision is aligned with the mission and guides all of the institution's strategic and interpretive planning.
