Nonprofit Overview

Mission: "daily bread's vision is to assure that no one goes hungry, no food is wasted in our community, and no one is denied the opportunity or assistance to become self-sufficient. Our mission is to improve the dignity and quality of life of the hungry and needy we serve. We do this by offering a daily free meal at our soup kitchen, supplying food to local agencies for redistribution to the needy, and providing hygienic and social services, in collaboration with partners. " we are open every day of the year, and managed by a board of directors consisting of eighteen entrepreneurs and professional people, empathetic to the plight of the poor, hungry and homeless. We also provide showers, hygiene products, a mail stop and clothing to those who are homeless.

Daily Bread has been a main stay in Melbourne, Florida for over 30 years. They offer hot meals and hot showers 365 days a year to serve the homeless in the community. They are always ready to offer a helping hand providing employment services, food stamp assistance along with an array of social services. Under the new leadership of Jeff Njus, Daily Bread is the leader in homeless services in Brevard County. Mr. Njus is always willing to listen and consult with every client. As a social service worker I have never seen an organization with a bigger HEART. There are over 500 committed volunteers sharing their time and money.

the kitchen has no certified food safety personnel, I have been there and they don't safely prep or stor food, they don't even wipe of the tops of the filthy cans they use for food, I have spoken to john about this but he refuses to hire a person to make sure the kitchen food is safe and prepped right. they did have a kitchen manager but john disgraced him and run him off.. it great that they help those in need but please don't feed them food that is not safe, yes there all volunteers but the food must be cooked properly and stored properly which it has not been, john doesn't even eat there???
