Blodgett was assigned to handle a case of a child who's mother committed suicide, police found a meth lab onsite, a person had OD'd and died just months earlier, and was known for prostitution. The Father had custody, but the family blamed him for the death because he wouldn't take the daughter over to a meth lab for visits. Fast forward, and the dad got in trouble with the law, and the mother's family took the child until he had it all straightened out. Now he is back, fully employed, has a house, and the mother's family is fighting for guardianship. All of the caseworkers are suggesting reunification, but someone higher up at Blodgett has a vendetta and is fighting it. He has had weekly drug screenings for 2 years, left a free place to live so that he had a good place for his child, has done all of the counseling, classes, parenting classes, everything asked of him, and they are still fighting it. Even with dual guardianship, the other people who refuse to talk to the father, don't think he child needs the medications 3 doctors think are needed, they feel it is good for a kid to have "Plenty of TV and video game time" and complain that the child is getting too much homework at 2 hours a week.
Blodgett has no reason to keep this child away from their father, and is making a mockery of the courts by delaying and postponing so that the judge is now saying he is moving towards guardianship, against 2 of their own caseworkers opinions, because it has taken too long, which is 100% caused by the court appointed attorney for the child and specifically Blodgett. The latest is that the Attorney is claiming the case workers didn't submit the proper paperwork in timely manners, which to me is Blodgett not training or informing their caseoworkers of their requirements.
D.A. Blodgett- St. John’s has been supporting the children and families of West Michigan for 135 years. Through an array of services from behavior health, foster care, adoption, and residential treatment programs, DABSJ ensure every child and family has the support and services needed to thrive. Working as an employee at DABSJ I was able to see the passion and commitment of the staff, to walk alongside children and parents in their journey to work though trauma and change their path forward. The West Michigan community is thankful for the services and support DABSJ provides.

The passion of the DA Blodgett leadership team for taking care of our children is palpable. You can truly feel their commitment to bringing families together and positioning children for success in their lives ahead. Grand Rapids is so lucky to have such an amazing organization in their midst that puts kids first and connects with the community in a variety of ways to live out their mission. Kudos to Mary Muliett for her amazing leadership in championing children across our community and pulling together a high caliber team to bring the DA Blodgett mission and vision to life!

I wish I could add a video and image of the smiling faces of the children who feel safe and cared for here. This organization provides valuable counseling, mentoring and residential behavioral health programs for so many parents and children. They are real advocates for vulnerable children and teens. As someone who was in the foster-care system, I appreciate the staff and mission of DA Blodgett St John’s! Thank you for providing safe spaces for vulnerable children in our community, as well as services for parents in need of support.

This agency employs morons through a government run jobs programs funded by federal money for profit. They receive bonuses for every child that is not returned back to their family. They cause more harm to every child that enters their program than what they have stated the parents caused, and ensure children are kept in homes away from the families so they can continue receiving federal funding. Most of the children are not being abused whatsoever, but once they have the children they conspire along with the courts and these fake incompetent services to ensure the inevitable goal, which is not to reunify the children with their parents. They falsify documents and have their tenticles in every service sector they utilize and refer a family to, ensuring failure in the end. The only one that is allowed to speak is the caseworkers that commit perjury and the parents lawyers do nothing, say nothing and continue to allow this to continue child after child. They don't do their jobs, mainly because they aren't capable of providing true needed services to a parent that will actually benefit them in getting their children back. Why would they there is no money in it for them if the children go back home. The longer they can keep these children tied up in limbo the more money they make. One of their people will be first in line to adopt any of these children or to be a foster parent because they continue making money off the backs of these children until they turn 18. It is designed to fail everyone except for those who run this corrupt system and they all walk away cheerfully after every child they terminate from the life of a parent, and all for the money and the glory to their sick twisted egos. They should all have their children removed from their homes and be treated in the same manner they treat the children, parents and relatives of everyone envolved. The lawyers should know the law, and yet they do absolutely nothing. The judges are just as corrupt and do not operate under the provisions of the law, mainly the US Constitution. The parents rights are violated in every case and no one bats an eye at it.
