Mission: Reduce the incidence of sudden cardiac death in teens and young adults by providing low cost cardiac screening and increasing awareness.
Results: Since 2000, we've screened 45,000 people. Of those, more than 70 students have had corrective heart surgery, including 2 heart transplants - none of them knew they had heart problems before the ECG and all of them passed their standard school physical.
Target demographics: prevent Sudden Cardiac Death
Direct beneficiaries per year: 13,000 students ensure their heart health, of which 12 students needed surgery to correct heart problems previously undiagnosed.
Geographic areas served: schools
Programs: heart screening of student athletes with a simple electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG).

The Cypress ECG Project is an amazing organization and one I will be forever grateful for!! Through their expertise and generosity, my daughter was screened at her high school and was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect. She had many physicals previously yet nobody ever mentioned this before. We were truly shocked yet so thankful that we were made aware of her condition. She underwent a successful open heart surgery and is doing great. The amazing people at the Cypress ECG Project showed compassion and concern throughout the entire process and still keep in touch with us today! I am so thankful for this wonderful organization!
