Mission: At CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, our mission is to end children’s cancer. We bring together the brightest thought leaders in the field today to help identify the greatest challenges facing pediatric cancer. We then target specific grants to resolve those challenges and accelerate the search for an end to childhood cancer.
These core values guide CureSearch as we push forward in finding cures and less-toxic treatments for children with cancer.
HONESTY & INTEGRITY
TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
CREATIVITY & COLLABORATION
Results: To honor our core values of transparency and accountability, CureSearch publishes a report on our impact and results twice a year. Please read our latest report at curesearch.org/Impact-Report.
Target demographics: In the last 40 years, the overall survival rate for children’s cancer has increased from 10% to 80%. At CureSearch, our goal is 100%. Approximately 15,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year. Three out of five children who survive cancer suffer devastating, late effects such as secondary cancers, muscular difficulties and infertility. Cancer claims the lives of more children than all other childhood diseases combined.
Geographic areas served: CureSearch for Children's Cancer is a national non-profit foundation.
Programs: CureSearch takes a more entrepreneurial approach to funding children’s cancer research. By driving forward only the very best research, we are building a pipeline of promising treatments that will dramatically accelerate the end of children’s cancer. CureSearch provides resources and education so that no child faces a cancer diagnosis without a fully equipped support team behind them.
CureSearch is a place where the medical minds bent on beating childhood cancer can come together to share their research for the cure. My own daughter is benefiting from research driven treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. CureSearch collaborations and discoveries have made it possible for children like my daughter to have a more targeted approach to treat leukemia that irradicates the disease while having the least toxic effects possible on long term survival. Cancer is cruel at any age, but somehow in the life of a child it is so totally unnatural, painful and downright scary...please help CureSearch keep searching until the CURE is found for all our kids.
Awesome organization dedicated to researching the cure and better treatments for our kids. The treatments currently can be so damaging to these little kids bodies, not to mention all the little ones that lose their lives to cancer every year. This organization is helping to find the cure and increase funding and awareness.
My daughter's little body was one damaged by the chemotherapy, radiation and surgery that was intended to cure her cancer. She is cancer free at this time but at 6 years old she will live the rest of her life with a damaged heart with the possibility of a transplant needed in her future due to the chemo.
This organization is helping to eliminate these possible outcomes for the children diagnosed in the future, or perhaps one day, no child will have cancer.
