It’s rare that an organization of such high value, execution and passion are all seen in the same place. Relentless in its pursue of current and time tested ways to build self sustaining life skills. A model non-organization.

One of the things that stands out to me is Crossway's holistic approach to changing the lives of mothers enrolled in the Family Leadership School. From what I learned during interviews, Crossway doesn't babysit mothers in the FLS. They won't hold your hand. Don't get me wrong, the mothers have a very supportive environment, but they are responsible for their own success--and they have the tools to guide them along the pathway to success. I am very impressed with the whole person/whole family/whole community approach that is at the core of Crossway's mission.

My children both attended Crossway Montessori.
I would like to highlight the standard of education Crossway Montessori provides for all children enrolled in the school regarding of their socio-economic background.
The Students in the Family Leadership School are working on achieving success for themselves and their children. Over the past 6 years I have witnessed wonderful changes in the life of those families.

Crossway Community serves mothers and childen in a unique way by providing life skills classes, stable housing, a Montessori School year-round program and positive contact with other parents (from the Montessori school) who support Crossway's mission and can serve as mentors. It is a special place that is always striving to provide the best outcomes for the families it serves.

I support Crossway as a retired early childhood specialist. Crossway understands that working with children means working with parents, the whole, the family. To achieve long term success, change must take place through learning and experiencing the lessons taught. This happens at Crossway. Cheers to a quality program.

I have so much respect for the work Crossway Community does - so many programs work with small children in disadvantaged circumstances but neglect the parents. By working closely with the mothers as well, Crossway Community gives the children a lifeline within their own families. The Family Leadership School is a wonderful innovation with proven results - local governments and other child-centered non-profits should really take a look at this model. Very impressive.

Having been a staff member at Crossway many years ago, I have been impressed and inspired by the organization's development . By sticking to a set of core priniciples and a strong mission, and by continuously committing to excellence, Crossway has realized a vision that makes a difference in the lives of families every day. I believe that Crossway is on the cutting edge of education/family and community development because of its ability to draw upon the strengths of each and every partner -- and to be driven by research and best practices. It is an honor to have been connected with Crossway Community.

Crossway Community really understands how working with young children, especially those from poor families, can make a difference. It is uplifting to see their school and know that the future for these children may be different than what they might have experienced.

As a parent of Montessori students and an architect that works directly with educational non-profits in this region, I have been singularly impressed by unique educational and social model created by CrossWay Community. They have identified critical components of a thriving social network and translated that into a vibrant community that serves a diverse range of families, as well as residents of its immediate neighborhood.

This org has one of the best models for how to address issues of poverty and how to break the cycle, by getting these young babies in montessori school and then empowering their moms to understand the principles of montessori. (prepared calm, clean, safe and healthy environments) Kind of like the kids end up teaching their moms how to be good moms!

I have volunteered at Crossway several times in the last year. Being able to be a part of something much bigger than me has been life changing. Volunteering at Crossway allowed me to do many different things and learn different skills. I was also able to bring in my knowledge and experiences and share them with the students. Crossway’s staff is very welcoming and always makes me feel like part of the team. After listening to some students’ stories and the changes they have made since enrolling in the program, I am able to fully appreciate Crossway’s mission.

Our son has been attending Crossway Montessori School for 3 years now and we would highly recommend it to any family looking for a great education and exposure to many different cultures and languages. Our son loves spending time outside working in the garden and learning about nature. He is learning so many skills that we know will help him become a strong, responsible, independent young man. As parents, we also enjoy being able to get involved in an organization with such a great cause!

As a volunteer, I worked with residents to organize and catalog their art supply closets used for the community Montessori school and after school/summer programs.

Over the years, Crossway continues to add programming to increase the likelihood that the participants in their program will lead healthy, productive and integrated lives in their local communities. Children and adults plant and harvest their own fresh produce each year in a beautifully designed garden.

Their Montessori school serves both their residents and community members and is full of inquisitive and learning children.
