Crossroads Safehouse meets a critical need in Northern Colorado by assisting victims of domestic violence. Crossroads not only provides crisis services, but assists victims to re-build healthy and stable lives. As a board member, I am incredibly proud of how well this organization is run and the committed staff members who bring their tireless energy, unique talents and courage to helping our clients day in and day out.
Crossroads Safehouse has been serving the Northern Colorado community's victims of domestic violence for 41 years. The staff is exceptional, and their expertise makes an impact on victims every day.
Last year, Crossroads served nearly 4,000 victims of intimate partner abuse, providing crisis intervention; shelter and advocacy; legal representation; legal advocacy; victim's response at incident sites; nonresidential outreach; youth, family, and bilingual advocacy; group therapies; and rehousing. Their services are imperative to helping the community's most vulnerable.
This year in 2021, Crossroads is developing a broader strategy in its outreach and prevention areas, which includes a continued focus on helping high schoolers to choose healthy relationships and developing ways to further reach victims who may not necessarily seek advocacy and support by contacting Crossroads directly, but they can be reached if the agency is in proximity to them.
It is a remarkable organization, and I am motivated and inspired to provide this endorsement.
Crossroads Safehouse has been a critical community partner providing assistance to victims of domestic violence for over 30 years. Services include emergency shelter, food, clothing, and medical care. The shelter is available 24/7/365, and residents are able to stay up to eight weeks. Crossroads also serves non-resident clients with outreach advocacy as well as a crisis line, which is answered by a trained advocate who assists with safety planning, trauma informed care and advocacy. Crossroads programming also includes Road to Home Rapid Rehousing Program, Youth and Family Advocacy, a Bilingual Program and on-site law representation through our Bringing Justice Home Project. The prevention program features 'Time to Talk', a peer education program with a local school district on teen dating violence and how to foster healthy relationships. Crossroads works closely with local law enforcement agencies as a community partner they can rely on.
