Volunteering with the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m proud to contribute to such an impactful cause, supporting families affected by DIPG and helping fund crucial research. It’s inspiring to know that our efforts are making a real difference, especially seeing a patient thrive after five years, thanks to the treatments funded by the foundation. Being part of this compassionate organization has been a privilege, and I’m grateful to help further its mission.
What I admire most is the heart of the foundation — its deep-rooted empathy for the families it serves and its passionate drive to make a real difference in the fight against DIPG. If you are looking for an organization that is truly making a difference in the lives of children and families battling DIPG, the Cristian Rivera Foundation is an excellent place to support.
My experience with the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been incredibly moving, and it is evident how much they influence the community. Their dedication to raising both funds and awareness in the fight to find a cure for DIPG is truly inspiring.
This is a phenomenal charity organized for one of the strongest causes I have ever believed in. No child should have to endure such a rare and world altering disease. I deeply am grateful for the work of the Cristian Rivera Foundation for making a difference to find a cure for DIPG and helping families in need. It’s great to be able to have supported these children warriors through the CRF.
In the wake of the most tragic loss a human can endure, the Cristian Rivera Foundation was born. Helping families similarly impacted by DIPG, the foundation has increased funding for clinical trials at Cornell Medical Center. Through the darkest tragedy a parent can experience, the founders of the Cristian Rivera Foundation have given hope to many other families and even helped fund a breakthrough medical trial which has shown progress in at least three children with DIPG. The money raised by the Cristian Rivera Foundation is changing lives.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a truly inspiring non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG and supporting children and families affected by this devastating illness. I am happy to be part of the team, contributing my efforts to make a meaningful impact in the community. With the foundation's unwavering commitment, more and more families will have the chance to rebuild their lives and move forward with hope.

Being a part of the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been and continues to be a fantastic experience. The Cristian Rivera Foundation does wonders to help children with DIPG. From providing essential support for families to funding groundbreaking research, their commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring. Everyone at the Cristian Rivera foundation genuinely cares about the families they serve. They've had a great impact in raising awareness and helping to fund life-saving treatments. If you’re looking to support a cause that truly makes a difference, the Christian Rivera Foundation is an incredible organization to get behind.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation has become such an impact to so many lives. Watching this video and viewing many more videos on their website has put me to tears. If you are passionate about putting childhood cancer to a stop, I urge you to consider donating to this foundation. Your money goes towards finding a cure and lowering the percentage of childrens lives lost to this horrible disease.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is one that supports an amazing cause, aiding in the support and treatment for children battling a terrible disease. DIPG is an awful form of cancer that takes the lives of many children far too soon, CRF is doing their part to help save the lives of these children. The work they've done for their warriors and survivors is absolutely amazing and incredibly inspiring.
Not as transparent about where donation money is going despite them portraying it that way. Additionally, the founder frequently talks down on the parents of DIPG warriors and survivors, complaining about how "hard" it is to work with some of the parents, which is an awful thing to say about individuals watching their kids go through something as awful as DIPG. Would recommend supporting the Chad Tough Foundation instead.
Working with the Christian Rivera Foundation has been one of the best experiences of my fledgling career. It has been a joy and a blessing to cross paths with this community of driven volunteers, and I have never met someone more dedicated to a good cause than John Rivera. In just a few months I have gained an immense respect and admiration for him and all the folks making CRF's work possible.
I had no idea what DIPG was before volunteering with CRF, but the efforts they have put towards finding a cure and supporting families affected by the disease have been amazing and inspiring to learn about. This organization truly makes a difference in people's lives, and the people who drive it are wonderful to work with.
If you want to make a difference, CRF is where it happens.
I can confidently say that the Cristian Rivera Foundation is one of the most driven organizations I have ever been a part of. The passion of each member shines through their work and I feel inspired every day to put my best foot forward to help in whichever way I can. DIPG is a relatively lesser known condition, but the Cristian Rivera Foundation has worked tirelessly to bring more awareness to the cause, effectively creating an impactful and determined community.
When I met the founder, John Rivera, it was immediately obvious to me why the foundation has seen such growth in recent years. John is an incredible person, and his passion for this cause has led him to put every ounce of effort into getting the foundation where it is at today.
Volunteering for this organization has given me an indescribable sense of purpose, and I have the opportunity to directly see the impact of my work. I want to see this foundation evolve even further, and I urge anyone reading this to learn more about the organization.
This organization does so much for children and families affected by D.I.P.G. while funding research. I have seen their amazing work firsthand. I donate every year.
My journey with the Cristian Rivera Foundation (CRF) has been nothing short of transformative. Over the past year, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in an organization that embodies dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to combating D.I.P.G.
Witnessing the dedication of CRF's founder, John "Gungie" Rivera, and every individual associated with the foundation, is inspiring. Their tireless efforts and unwavering resolve to find a cure for this ruthless disease echo through every aspect of this foundation.
As someone involved in voluntary roles for the past year, contributing to CRF's social media and written content, I've seen firsthand the genuine care and concern that CRF's team extends toward children battling D.I.P.G. The environment within CRF is not just about work; it's a collective passion that fuels an incredible sense of purpose. It's heartwarming to witness volunteers, like-minded individuals drawn to CRF's mission, inspired to lend their support. This sense of camaraderie and devotion is what keeps people coming back year after year.
CRF isn't just an organization; it's a tightly-knit community bonded by a shared goal: eradicating D.I.P.G. It's this sense of unity and unwavering determination that sets CRF apart. The continuity of support and dedication from everyone involved is a testament to the organization's integrity and genuine desire to make a difference.

I am thrilled to express my deep admiration for the Christian Rivera Foundation and their remarkable efforts in combating Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). As someone who has worked directly with this organization, I know firsthand how great the work here has impacted both my life alongside the lives of many others, and wish to express this so others may share in the inspiration that is the fight against DIPG. This organization has become a true beacon of hope, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of families affected by this devastating pediatric brain cancer.
From the perspective of how this organization has impacted my life, it has truly been able to open my eyes to a cause that I had previously been unaware of and given me a sense of reward I never knew was possible. Working with the Cristian Rivera Foundation, one finds the dedication it takes to be a part of something so impactful. It strengthens you as an individual and gives you necessary skills such as communication, research, and a stronger sense of empathy. Overall, my work with the foundation will be something I remember and take with me forever.
Amazing organization. Amazing cause. I would volunteer for life if I could. I come from upstate Ny every year because I support the mission.
Inspiring team, meaningful work at The Cristian Rivera Foundation. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a cause that truly makes a difference. It's evident that founder John and the team pour their hearts and souls into the organization, creating a genuine and impactful experience.
As a volunteer at the Gala this past November, I was extremely impressed by the heart and soul of the foundation. They truly dedicate their all to their mission, with the stories of each of the DIPG warriors at the center of it all. Getting to see how the foundation has impacted the life of the warriors and of the DIPG research was truly moving and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Gala and help make an impact in some way. As a medical student, I understand how life-transforming a diagnosis like DIPG can be, and I am glad a foundation like The Christian Rivera Foundation exists!
I have been working with the Cristian Rivera Foundation for nearly a year now, and I must say that it is truly an amazing organization. Everyone involved with this foundation pours their heart and soul into their efforts to spread awareness about D.I.P.G. and to find a cure for it.
Attending the 14th Annual Cristian Rivera Foundation Celebrity Gala was a life-changing experience for me. It made me realize how terrible this disease is and how it affects so many children. I am grateful to the foundation's founder, John "Gungie" Rivera, Chairwoman Melinda Colon Cox, and every member associated with the foundation for their dedication and hard work. I am excited to see the foundation continue to grow and find a cure to end D.I.P.G.
Having served as a staff member, my experience with the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been truly inspiring. The organization's relentless efforts in raising funds for D.I.P.G awareness have resulted in tangible impacts. Witnessing tumors shrink and life expectancies extend, previously deemed implausible, showcases the foundation's genuine influence on children's diagnoses.
Founder John Rivera’s unwavering strength, resilience, and determination stem from a personal connection to the cause, adding a profound depth to their mission. Attending this year's gala offered a firsthand look at the incredible work being done. Included below, are a few photos from the gala, a truly great night. All in all, the Cristian Rivera Foundation stands as the epitome of charitable excellence, embodying the true essence of impactful and purpose-driven philanthropy.
I've been working with the Cristian Rivera Foundation as an advisor for around 2 years, helping out with writing and social media, and I hope to continue for as long as it takes to cure DIPG.
I've seen the care firsthand that CRF's founder, employees, and board members have for children with DIPG. At both the 13th and 14th Annual CRF Celebrity Gala, I talked with a lot of volunteers as well who became passionate about CRF's mission following their work at the gala. It's an incredible environment to work in being surrounded by so mcuh devotion to a cause. You see the same people with CRF year after year because of this. I encourage anyone interested in making a difference to volunteer, donate, or attend an event.

Review from Guidestar
My experience with the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been nothing short of exceptional. As an intern, I have seen firsthand just how much work, dedication, and passion the CRF has put toward curing and raising awareness for DIPG, and I wholeheartedly believe that their efforts will one day find us that cure. I am constantly inspired by the amount of love and care they bring to the children and families affected by this devastating illness, and I am more than proud to be part of their mission to rid the world of DIPG for good. By all standards, the CRF truly stands in a league of its own.
Full Steam Ahead!
Helping fight against DIPG has been a very heart warming and enlightening experience. Being a young adult one of the most rewarding things to do is to give back and extend a helping hand to others. It’s what our generation is about. Working with the people at the gala and being able to raise money for an amazing cause was a beautiful experience. Everyone was donating to end DIPG once and for all. I encourage all who read to take some time from your day to research and learn about this wonderful cause.
I’ve had the honor and privilege of donating and volunteering for the Cristian Rivera Foundation for several years. It has grown exponentially in money raised and fondness in my heart.
The founder, John Gungie Rivera, is a childhood friend of mine whom I’ve always looked up to as a professional DJ, artist manager, promoter, and more.
But his work as a trailblazer in the medical research of DIPG is what has impressed me most. John and his foundation have literally transformed the lives of children and parents dealing with this dreadful disease, and has given them great hope and a fighting chance for life.
He has also rallied a significant number of celebrities with great number of followers to help raise awareness on a global level. I’ve worked with other charitable organizations, big and small and none of them hold a candle in comparison.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation it’s impossible to duplicate. It performs and produces charitable fundraisers like a fortune 500 company but with the size and attention to detail of a family owned business.
The annual Christian Rivera Celebrity Gala held every year in New York City, with it’s Hollywood styled red carpet, celebrity guests, world class auction items and performers, creates a world class fundraising experience that would rival the best award ceremonies in the world.
But when the confetti stops falling and the music fades at the end of the gala, the volunteers keep pushing because they know John will never rest until DIPG is defeated.
That’s why John’s angel son Cristian will never stop smiling from heaven. Join the movement. Make a donation of any size, or volunteer your time.
Either way, go full steam ahead with the Cristian Rivera Foundation. You’ll be changed forever. I know I am. Love you 10!
It has been my absolute honor to serve on this board. The Cristian Rivera Foundations mission is extraordinary and I am humbled to be a part of an organization that focuses so strongly on saving the lives of these children fighting against an unspeakable monster of a disease and the care for the children and their families year round is unprecedented. From their health to shelter to making wishes come true CRF does it all ! I’m beyond proud to be The Executive Board Member !!
I had the opportunity to volunteer with the Cristian Rivera Foundation for the first time this past November and could not have had a more memorable experience. From being provided with training on how to collect live donations prior to the event to opening my eyes to the work being done to transform the lives of those struck with DIPG. Staff members and volunteers alike, had an “all hands on deck” mentality that included welcoming all questions as well as being available during set up and close out. I felt that my time and work were valued and appreciated. Needless to say, I look forward to continuing to volunteer and strengthen my partnership with the committed volunteers and members of this foundation for years to come.
Been volunteering every year since 2018. The hard work everyone puts in is second to none and the CRF is making a real difference in children's lives. Volunteering for the CRF is always a privilege because of the gratitude and hard work that goes into serving a purpose bigger than oneself. Honored each time I get to work with the Cristian Rivera Foundation.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an exceptional and inspiring non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG. Before working with CRF’s founder, John “Gungie” Rivera, I had never heard about this devastating illness and how it affects so many children and families. CRF is passionate and committed to this cause, and it’s been inspiring to watch them host fundraisers, spoil their warriors, and make the world a better place with their mission of giving DIPG children and families a better life. Thank you, CRF, for the important work you do!
Before meeting John Rivera, I did not know what DIPG cancer was. John's story about his son was devastating, and after learning about the Cristian Rivera Foundation and all they do for children diagnosed with this terrible disease, they really do an outstanding job. They put over 100% of all efforts in to support and do what they can, and I'm so grateful to be able to be a part of it. I have no doubt they will one day find a cure for DIPG.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a wonderful foundation! Having partnered with one of the best neuro-oncologists in the country, they have successfully treated four children with DIPG thanks to their work alone. I am proud to be a part of a foundation that has the utmost dedication to such a great cause. Being a part of CRF, I can confidently say that I know that I am making a change and saving the lives of many. Full Steam Ahead!
Prior to finding out about the Cristian Rivera Foundation, I had no idea that DIPG even existed. When I connected with John Rivera and he told me Cristian's story, I was at a loss for words. All I could think about was the pain his family had been through and how much strength it took to take a moment like that and put it towards a positive change. The CRF foundation gives more than hope to these families and children, it gives them a real chance at life, a different one than DIPG intended. After attending CRF's 13th annual gala, I got to see first hand what this foundation does for these families. These children get so much stripped away from them at such a quick pace with DIPG, but this foundation and John Rivera continue to give more. These children are blessed to have a team of people working tirelessly to find a cure, so that one day the world can truly be DIPG free.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an incredible organization that does so much work to support DIPG research and children and their families that fight DIPG every day. All the people that are involved in the organization truly care about their mission of finding a cure for DIPG. I am so proud to be a part of some of the work that they do and looking forward to seeing what The Cristian Rivera Foundation will accomplish.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a fantastic organization. I have attended the last two Galas, as well as last year's 5K Walk/Run, both of which were great events; but more importantly, each event centered on the Foundation's mission - to find a cure for DIPG. The Foundation focuses on educating the public about DIPG, fundraising much needed funds for DIPG research (which is significantly underfunded compared to other forms of children's cancer or brain tumors), and supporting children suffering and undergoing treatment for DIPG and their families. No family should ever suffer the loss of a child, and while we're still searching for a cure for DIPG, the Cristian Rivera Foundation is doing everything it can to further research efforts and to help families advocate for their children. Such a great organization and cause - I look forward to continuing to support the Foundation.
I participated in the Cristian Rivera Foundation's 5K Walk/Run this past year with my daughter and some family members and friends. It was so inspiring to see so many good people come together for a great cause. I am so deeply touched and moved by the Cristian Rivera Foundation and everything it is doing to find a cure for DIPG and to save the lives of so many young children. I look forward to continuing to participate in events held by this organization.
I have been donating to this amazing foundation since 2019. I donate to so many foundations, but this foundation is by far my favorite. They are working so hard to save lives. I have attended 2 gala’s and I have witnessed firsthand the amazing and selfless work being done by the Cristian Rivera Foundation.
The members of the Cristian Rivera Foundation never fail to amaze me with their dedication and nonstop efforts to the cause and those that it serves. I am proud to give my time volunteering in any capacity to this incredible foundation and to witness the change it has brought & will continue to bring to those who suffer from DIPG.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a one of a kind Non-Profit Organization that works around the clock for the betterment of the lives of children who are diagnosed with Cancer. They are fully committed in helping young children by providing them with all the support and love they need. Their work is really changing the lives of many children for the greater good, as it is their ultimate goal to find a cure for diseases like DIPG and take care of the families who are affected by it. I have had an opportunity to volunteer for CRF and it gives me immense pride when I know I am contributing for something which helps children lead a better life!
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an exceptional nonprofit organization. This is an organization that 100% believes in its mission, and the work they do only proves that. The dedication they have for the families they help is unmatched, and everyone involved is so kind. Working for CRF, I know that what I am doing matters and will change lives for the better.
This is a truly wonderful organization with a beautiful goal of improving the lives of young cancer patients, specifically those who struggle with a rare condition called DIPG. Every person at this nonprofit is so passionate and kind, and they really care about each individual they serve. I have enjoyed every minute of volunteering at this organization since it's easy to see the real-life impact this organization is having on young people with this horrible condition. This organization is amazing!
I have been supporting the Cristian Rivera Foundation for over a decade now. I am amazed at how much they have grown. The work they do, supporting families battling DIPG and funding research is amazing. The progress they have made is inspirational. What was once a quick death sentence, now has survivors and children are living longer than ever before. Full Steam Ahead CRF.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an incredible organization. Their goal of ending DIPG once and for all is truly inspiring. Everyone at CRF works non-stop to support children and families effected by DIPG. I have had the honor of working with them in the past and can say with confidence that one day CRF will find a cure for DIPG.
I have been a design intern for John since early September. Learning about the Cristian Rivera Foundation, what they do, and what this foundation means to so many has really touched my heart. Being able to volunteer at the 12th Annual Gala meant the world to me. It really showed me how when people gather together in support of something, you can really make a difference.
I volunteered at this event and I work for the founder on one of his other companies. I thought this event was amazing. The cause that they were fighting for was so inspiring and beautiful. Even as a volunteered I still enjoyed myself and thought that the experience was so worth it. It truly was a magical night to witness.
They are at the forefront of both battling the disease , shedding light on its victims , and assisting with families .
This is an amazing cause for children who desperately need our help. Having learned my long time friend lost his child to this horrendous disease I felt the need to help and be a part of the foundation.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a beautiful and amazing non-profit that seeks to help find a cure for DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor that effects children typically between the ages of 2 and 10, by helping to fund important research and trials while also helping the children and families impacted by this terrible disease. I first learned about the Foundation through a friend who invited me to the 2019 Gala and I was immediately touched by the heartfelt work this great organization does. The love and desire in that room to help DIPG research and the kids who suffer from this awful disease was raw and real. I left that evening knowing I had to be part of this organization because I wanted to make a difference. I was recently invited to join the Board and I continue to be inspired. The founder, John “Gungie” Rivera, is 100% committed to the Foundation’s mission, as he sadly lost his son to DIPG. No parent should ever have to suffer the loss of a child and no child should ever feel hopeless or as though a cure is not possible - The Cristian Rivera Foundation is helping to make this sentiment a reality. Please come learn more about the Foundation and the great work we do. You won’t regret it and you just may help to save a child’s life.
I was so lucky to be apart of the Cristian Rivera Foundation. Every single person apart of the foundation selflessly works to create a world with out DIPG. They are dedicated people working for others and not themselves . I am so proud to be a member of the organization.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an absolutely amazing nonprofit. The team is wonderful and everyone is incredibly passionate about fighting against and finding a cure for DIPG. During my time interning with CRF thus far I have learned so much about DIPG and grown to become very passionate about the cause. John's story and his commitment to taking care of families affected by DIPG is inspirational. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part CRF and I'm so excited to see them grow as a foundation.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is truly an amazing nonprofit organization. The Cristian Rivera Foundation has a beautiful team and mission that is forever making an impact on this world. In particular, I had the privilege and opportunity to intern with the CRF team as a social media coordinator for five months. I learned more about DIPG, the need to find a cure and also developed a true passion in spreading awareness about and ending DIGP as I worked along side of John. John Rivera and his team truly care about the many children and families who have been affected by this terrible disease, as well as their team too. John is so loving, compassionate, dedicated and a very hard worker as well. I know and believe that the CRF will continue to grow abundantly in the future. The CRF offers many valuable resources when it comes to educating and sharing awareness about DIPG with others. It has also held many successful and amazing fundraising events too. Cristian's light and legacy will always live on. My life has truly been changed for the good. I am very thankful to have connected with the Cristian Rivera Foundation! Full Steam Ahead!
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a truly wonderful foundation that works to the incredible cause of saving children with DIPG. Through fundraisers and awareness campaigns, the foundation increases knowledge about the disease and helps raise money to go towards research and helping families affected by the disease. The founder's personal connection to the illness drives the foundation forwards so that they are always moving "full steam ahead."
This nonprofit goes above and beyond to help the children suffering. I can’t think of a better foundation at what they do. All my heart goes to everyone at this foundation, the children’s lives they’ve change, and the workers.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation has been absolutely welcoming and so dedicated to what they do. The CRF team spends all their time and resources working towards supporting families and children affected by DIPG. The team is so loving and open. When you are apart of their team, or even just associated with them, they act as if you are family! I have appreciated watching this organization thrive and work hard for a better future for children with DIPG. The Cristian Rivera Foundation will forever be in my heart and I cannot wait to continue watching them grow as a foundation!
I have loved being a part of the Cristian Rivera Foundation team! This is a wonderful organization that continues to give back to the DIPG community through fundraising, supporting families impacted by DIPG, and spreading awareness of this type of cancer. The organization is truly one big family and everyone is so welcoming and passionate about our mission to find a cure for DIPG.
I have recently found the Cristian Rivera Foundation and I am so honored to be a team member here. It's amazing to see everything this foundation does for so many families. The founder, John, has the biggest heart I've seen and all he wants is to give back. I have so much respect for him and this foundation and I can't wait to see what's in store!
I am an intern with the Cristian Rivera Foundation. I have absolutely loved working with this organization. All of the staff and board members are incredibly dedicated to their mission. They work diligently to support families, raise awareness for DIPG and collect donations to fund clinical trials! The staff have huge hearts and will help families battling this disease in any way possible. I have had the chance to strengthen many skills while working at this job and have learned a great deal about DIPG.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is one of many Nonprofit organizations I have had the pleasure of volunteering with, and I am astonished at the amount that is done annually by the foundation in its efforts to raise awareness, help families battling DIPG, and to finding a cure. I am honored to be a part of such a phenomenal foundation.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation has really taught me so much about this terrible cancer that only affects children. From working with them I have seen such dedication and motivation to work with amazing doctors and donate all they can to finding a cure. This foundation does amazing work and really works their hardest to help the families and children that DIPG affects.
This nonprofit is amazing. It has taught us about a childhood cancerous tumor that most people don't even know exist (DIPG) aka diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma. The foundation is amazing in that those involved, especially the founder and his family are non-stop trying to eliminate this from occurring to anyone else, by tirelessly trying to raise awareness and funding for research and hopefully a cure. Seeing the folks that this impacts directly as well as even the small things that must be done to get folks to contribute to such an important cause is awe inspiring. God Bless them and thank goodness for the existence of such an organization.
I have been involved as a volunteer/donor for the Cristian Rivera Foundation for 8 years now and I continue to support them because they're amazing at what they do and are fighting for a very important cause. As a mother, it breaks my heart to think that young children lose their lives to DIPG and their families have to suffer. I've been to their galas, walks, boat rides, and other fundraisers and they are extremely passionate about curing DIPG. I'm proud to support CRF all this years and see how much the foundation has grown. Over the years we've seen more survivors and that shows that progress is being made.
I started as a volunteer in the early galas 14 years ago. I have seen the foundation grow. Prior to their creation, there were no medicines, treatments or hope for the children or their families. Now because of their efforts, there is research, treatments, medicines and hope as there are several cases studies that are thriving. And that is not counting on everything the do from assisting families, to giving wishes and dreams comes true to children.
Children are special to me, as is the Cristian Rivera Foundation where I help and support their efforts to fine a cure.
I first became involved with the Cristian Rivera Foundation about three years ago as a volunteer. I soon realized what a special group of people the CRF family are, and I knew I wanted to do as much as I could to fight DIPG. As a new member of the committee, I am consistently blown away by the dedicated, hard working and compassionate group of people I have the honor of working with in this organization. The annual Gala continues to be one of the most moving and inspirational events I have ever attended. I look forward to continuing to be a part of this foundation as we join together to fight DIPG.
I knew very little when I first heard of Cristian Rivera Foundation and had no idea that it would bring me to a beautiful and amazing journey when I was really in here with the warm family. People in Cristian Rivera Foundation are the kindest and the most thoughtful one I have ever met, and it seemed like they did not want to lose any second or chance to tell everyone how much they care about what they are doing and really eager to get in touch with every family that is struggled with DIPG to help them. Cristian Rivera Foundation has responsive staffs, powerful members and partners and all of them would get together to provide as much help as they can to make the situation better and better of family who is fighting with DIPG and it can be believed that this organization could bring and bring even more than what is needed and really help people who is suffering. It was quite an honor for me to join this team and got the chance to see how it runs its operation, and I was very proud of the whole organization and being one of the members.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is an amazing organization bringing awareness and funding research and trials which will one day find a cure for D.I.P.G. I have supported this amazing foundation for many years but recently I was fortunate to attend the gala for the first time and I was completely moved by the professionalism displayed by the foundation. I will continue to support.
After working with the Cristian Rivera Foundation, I feel that the potential and dedication of this foundation is amazing. There is so much effort and care going into this foundation that there is clear progress being made. The organization sets itself apart with its commitment to bringing awareness to this rare brain tumor and also with its efforts to raise money and funding for this cause. The foundation has partnered with truly phenomenal doctors and have made tremendous strides with D.I.P.G. The Cristian Rivera foundation is doing anything and everything possible to accomplish their mission and it is remarkable to see people put so much effort into a very important cause.
I’ve been a proud Committee Member of the Cristian Rivera Foundation for 5 years now and can confidently say that there is no other foundation working harder to fight against DIPG. They’re partnered with one of the best neuro-oncologists in the country and have been able to say that 4 children have survived DIPG because of his work. They run some of the best events I’ve ever been to and all for this amazing cause. I’m happy to be a part of such an awesome organization.
Becoming a volunteer for the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been an amazing, eye- opening experience. I have seen first hand the amount of effort this foundation puts forth to eliminate DIPG. The drive and passion this foundation has sets them apart from any other non- profit I have ever experienced, always discussing new ways to reach people, raise money and help these children. This foundation puts 100% into everything they do from the Gala, to the 5k, the boat ride and every single day in between. I can confidently say that because of the Cristian Rivera Foundation, there will one day be a cure for DIPG.
I have been working as a Part-Time Director for the Cristian Rivera Foundation and am blown away by the dedication and potential of this organization. This foundation is unique in its commitment to providing personal support to DIPG families and its ability to reach a wide, diverse audience in spreading awareness about DIPG. Celebrities, doctors, families, and people from the local community of many different cultures come together for the important cause of potentially saving children's lives. The Cristian Rivera Foundation also produces fundraising events like no other organization through a variety of different platforms including its stunning celebrity gala, NYFW runway shows, 5Ks, boat rides, and even small dinner parties held by board members. We also find creative ways to educate others about DIPG through our website, social media, email blasts, obtaining press, and appearing on local news - anything that can be done so that the world can learn about this terrible disease. In addition, every single penny matters to CRF and is not taken for granted in raising money for DIPG research - we're always thinking of ways big and small to make more money for our cause. I'm proud to say that transparency is key to this organization and something that we strive for in even the smallest of matters. Being a part of the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been an exciting, fulfilling, and life-giving journey so far, I can't wait to see what progress we can continue to make in the future!
Review from Guidestar
Joining the volunteer and fundraising efforts of the The Cristian Rivera Foundation has been a gratifying experience as I have assisted the organization in fighting and raising awareness one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer in children. What has been most rewarding, is noting the significant progress the contributions have made to treat this horrible disease. Through CFR efforts, we have provided funding for innovative clinical trials that are making a difference with DIPG research. CRF is comprised of all volunteers, committed to eradicating DIPG for our children. The organization finds engaging ways to bring people together to educate them on the disease and raise funds to contribute their mission. I encourage all to view their website and see how they are raising awareness and making change in our world. We hope to see you soon.
I have been a hard worker my entire life and I thought that my accomplishments were enough to fulfill my soul. I was wrong, I always felt like something was missing. I felt I had to do something more, something that was bigger than me. Then I hosted an event for CRF and, I knew at that moment that I had to be part of this GREAT Organization. I joined this Organization less than a year ago and its been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. The work we do is truly selfless.
I have donated to and supported many organizations. This Wonderful Organization is Amazing and Worthy. The support they give families who have a Child with DIPG is outstanding. I have witnessed it firsthand. I wish this organization continued success.
I have Volunteered for several Non for Profits in the past, but The Cristian Rivera Foundation is by far the best one. I say it's the best one because their Gala is TOP NOTCH, Super organized and ran like an award show. After I volunteered, I learned about their programs and was blown away again. This year marks 4 years since I began Volunteering for this Beautiful Organization
and I plan on volunteering more of my time when needed to this inspiring Foundation.

The Cristian Rivera Foundation is one of the non for profit foundations that i will continue to volunteer for and support. Everything that they are pushing whether is its the GALA or the Walk or the other numerous events, the energy behind this foundation has been outstanding. I am extremely honored to be a part of such an amazing cause where everyone is very much hands on with every detail. To see how much the work they do, and how much they help children and families affected by DIPG, is very inspirational!
The Cristian Rivera Foundation has made an amazing contribution to finding a cure for DIPG, an aggressive and inoperable brain cancer. The foundation’s dedication to research (raising over $1 million) and assistance to children battling DIPG and their families makes this organization one of the most important and influential pediatric cancer-related organizations in the United States.
I am a Proud Member of this Beautiful Foundation. We Save Lives. The Volunteer staff at the Cristian Rivera Foundation is so hard working and dedicated to the mission of eradicating DIPG!
It is an honor and truly a gratifying experience to be part of such a life-changing foundation which affects children worldwide. To push forward research efforts to find a cure is a monumental experience and history in the making. Losing someone is never easy, but increasingly compounding when a child is involved. I support this foundation to the fullest for its dedication and unwavering commitment on behalf of all those involved. I believe the Cristian Rivera Foundation along with its partners will be the first to find a cure. I eagerly wait and stand proudly together with them as a witness throughout this process and the unveiling of a cure.

Finding a non-profit organization where their cause is something you are instantly attracted to is one I found with The Cristian Rivera Foundation. Volunteering with the CRF, I was able to express the same positive energy with those who supported a common goal. Each member, whether that be a volunteer or member of the board, brought a unique skill and their own story as to why the CRF was a great fit for them. As for me, the biggest part of this foundation is the people I work day to day with, the interactions and the love and care each individual has for a future in finding a cure for DIPG is incredible. It is unfortunate that so many children have to endure something so horrible, but with a good team and a winning one, this is the place to spread the love, awareness and compassion you have inside for a great cause. When someone tells you its not possible, here at the CRF, they show you that every volunteer matters, every gesture, donation and education on the matter is little wins for the greater cause. It’s amazing!
“I am more than honored and extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to serve as a staff member for the Cristian Rivera Foundation. Between learning about DIPG, working hand in hand with John "Gungie" Rivera, and working endlessly to raise awareness, I vowed to dedicate the necessary efforts until a cure is found. It takes the right team to uphold The Cristian Rivera Foundation, a team that is selfless, passionate, and devoted to go beyond the norm.. this is the set atmosphere every day at the foundation. I hold this foundation with great esteem and promise to fulfill my duties while serving for the families and children affected by DIPG.”
I am honored to have this opportunity to volunteer at the Cristian Rivera Foundation. I have not heard of this terrible disease that attacks small children called Pontine Glioma a rare cancer. It gives me great hopes that we can find a break through this illness. Through this journey I will be exposed to so much important research and the foundation is very dedicated to their work.
As a staff member of The Cristian Rivera Foundation, it has/is been a life-changing experience. I never really heard of DIPG which shows why this foundation is created. Not a lot of people know of DIPG until one or someone special they know is touched by it. The Cristian Rivera Foundation is truly amazing, from advocating for these children to raising funds for research. I am two time. cancer survivor, I live every day to help raise awareness for children who are fighting their battles with chronic illnesses. My life dream career is finding a foundation where I can bring my passion for helping children who have a chronic illness and make difference and then I was introduced to The Cristian Rivera Foundation, let me tell you this... It is a truly amazing foundation where they help children and give a tomorrow. It is just amazing to see how much work everyone puts in and how the outcomes are in the end is just heartwarming and life-changing.
A co-worker asked for a donation and ever since I have gotten several emails a week, in spite of 3 requests to be taken off their email list. I would never donate to them again.
I watched my friend receive the most horrible news a parent could receive: your child has terminal cancer. I wasn’t sure how to help him because I couldn’t even imagine what he was going through. I couldn’t imagine a world without my two daughters, I wouldn’t know how to proceed.
I watched my friend sacrifice his entire career to help keep his son alive. My friend was a successful business man at a young age; he’s an innovator and pioneer in his space. He left it all behind to save his son, to keep him alive.
I watched my friend lose his son. I tried to process what this meant, how to recover, and I couldn’t. Would my friend be able to continue? Would he ever be the same?
I watched my friend create a foundation in his son’s name to help those families that follow him in this journey. He may not be able to prevent this from happening again but he is dedicated to changing that.
I watch my friend lead a group of dedicated volunteers to help rid the world of DIPG. We work together to serve as a resource for families that are impacted by this disease, we also serve as inspiration that a cure is not too far off.
Today I watch my friend as he celebrates the lives of two children who are responding well to the clinical trials that the Cristian Rivera Foundation supports. One child, Lisha Ayala, has lived with the disease for 6 years and has shown no signs of tumor growth.
I’m watching my friend change the world...I’m watching my friend give the medical community hope that we will be able to actively treat this rare disease and eventually cure it.
Join us as we get closer to curing DIPG. Visit our site at CristianRiveraFoundation.org to see all the beautiful things we are doing for our children. Support us by attending our 10th annual Gala on 11/14/18 at Capitale in a New York City.
Watch my friend cure DIPG!
I was a volunteer at The Cristian Rivera Foundation’s 1st Annual Full Steam Ahead 5K Walk/Run. Volunteering to raise funds for families with DIPG and DIPG research was amazing, and so is the work The Cristian Rivera Foundation is doing. Meeting Dr. Mark Souwedine and other families who suffer from DIPG was eye-opening. I got to see how the foundation’s work contributes to clinical trials and families with DIPG first hand. Everyone associated with the organization is so passionate in fighting DIPG and I’m glad I got to meet everyone and help in any way I could.
I am currently a volunteer for the Cristian Rivera Foundation, and I can honestly say I've never loved taking part it something more. Being given the opportunity to help raise money to fight such a horrible disease with such a great group of individuals is life changing. The work we do as an organization is so inspiring, and gratifying and I am so lucky to be apart of it!
I am honored to have volunteered for the Cristian Rivera Foundation. I saw firsthand the compassion that goes into the lives of these families dealing with this horrible disease. I saw the miracles and changes this foundation is making through the lives of children and families dealing with DIPG. It is more than a foundation, it is run by a group of caring individuals that go above and beyond for each child suffering from this devastating condition. I truly look forward to working with them again and again and again.
For years I have wanted to Volunteer for a non profit, but I didn't find one that I felt passionate until I learned about the Cristian Rivera Foundation. The work they do is truly inspiring and full of hope. All the people involved in this foundation care so much and work so hard.
I admire the work that The Cristian Rivera Foundation is doing. Being a mother of 2 young children I couldn't bare the thought of losing a child. Learning about DIPG and the fight to find a cure has made me be a loyal supporter of this foundation. I have had the pleasure of attending the Annual Fundraising Gala and can see first hand the work they support in finding a cure. All the best to CRF and hoping to find a cure ASAP.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a 100% committed to finding a cure for DIPG from the founder John "Gungi" Rivera to the smallest donor. The passion that this foundation delivers is contagious. The level of Transparency and dedication that goes into running this foundation is second to none. I am very happy and excited to be a part of this foundation and encourage everyone to take time and learn about the great work CRF is doing in its fight against DIPG. Please take the time to visit the website and learn as well as donate..
Since its inception the Cristian Rivera Foundation has been at the forefront in finding a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) by raising funds for medical facilities and scientific clinical trials headed by the leading Pediatric Neurosurgeon in the space, Dr. Mark M. Souweidane, of Sloan Memorial Kettering, educating our respective communities on DIPG and most importantly providing emotional and financial support to the families impacted by the terrible disease. We will see a cure in our lifetime because of strong individuals such as its founder, John Rivera, who knows first hand what its like to loose a child to DIPG, the dedicated board members who have been inspired by Cristian Rivera Foundation's mission, the many lives Cristian and John have inspired over the years and best of all, a very special girl who is part of the clinical trial funded by CRF, hit a milestone, seeing no tumor growth for the last 5 years. As a father of two, I am grateful for being a part of the Cristian Rivera Foundation's quest to finding a cure. Full steam ahead.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a model non-profit organization which helps DIPG patients, survivors, and caregivers throughout the United States. The foundation has raised awareness and brought hope to families who once thought they’ve runout of options for their child. The CRF continues to offer emotional support that is necessary for families as they go through this devastating disease. The foundation and its supporters reached a point of notable success the moment they raised significant funding for research which has led to a successful clinical trial of a young girl who has surpassed the age of mortality of young children who are diagnosed with DIPG. The CRF makes sure to provide information and updates on trial phases and health status of their brave subject, providing even more hope that the path to a cure is closer than we think. Thank you CRF for your mission to save the lives of these innocent, young little humans. We have a family with two young children (plus one on the way) and, as parents, we are grateful for your work.
I had never heard of (DIPG) Pontine Glioma until John's son, Cristian, was diagnosed with this disease. I believe that CRF brings great awareness to this terrible illness. It is my honor to be part of the Cristian Rivera Foundation and help bring an understanding to this understated and implicit disease. We all have a purpose in life and I do believe Cristian's short time in this life and his father's relentless pursuit to find a cure for Pontine Glioma will one day come to fruition.
I contribute to the organization due to the tremendous potential they have to save lives of children with DIPG. Seeing how they’ve grown and helped so many children is very satisfying. The Cristian Rivera Foundation is truly a great foundation to contribute to. I will definitely continue donating!
Being associated The Cristian Rivera Foundation has been one of the most gratifying experiences of recent memory. Watching our orgaznation fight one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer in children, and we are actually making significant progress. Through our efforts, we have provided funding for innovative clinical trials that are making a difference with DIPG research. Comprised of all volunteers, we are committed to eradicating DIPG for our children. Take a look at our website and see how we are raising awareness and making change in our world.
Where do I start? The Cristian Rivera Foundation is truly a really great organization to volunteer for. It’s so nice to be a part of a foundation that cares so much about the cause. Everyone contributing to CRF is completely selfless and their hard work and dedication to the cause is remarkable. To see how much the work they do, and how much they help children and families affected by DIPG, is very inspirational!
I’ve been honored to be a part of and witness the miracles and changes in people's lives that CRF has made possible. It is such a wonderful organization that truly cares about helping those affected by DIPG.
I’ve been a donor to the Cristian Rivera Foundation for the past six years. The "thank you" letters, pictures and e-mails tell a very moving story of how money well-spent can go a long way. Currently, there is a patient who is participating in the trials, who has been living with DIPG for over 5 years. Usually, DIPG claims the lives of its victims within 12 months of diagnosis. The survivor proves that what I’m donating to is going to a very good cause. DIPG will one day not be something to not fear!
If you get a chance to be involved with the Cristian Rivera Foundation, please do so. I’ve volunteered at three of their galas and will do so every continuing year. It's more than a foundation, it is run by caring and loving individuals who are making changes in the lives of children dealing with DIPG.
I’ve been to four of the Cristian Rivera Foundation galas and I think they are doing wonderful work. They truly embody the qualities it takes to make a difference in the world. There is no disease more heartbreaking than DIPG and this organization is giving it their all to find a cure.
I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of this charity for 2 years now. It’s an absolutely wonderful organization that truly gives 100% of its time, energy and money raised to curing DIPG. I cannot imagine losing a child to this horrible disease and this charity is working to find a cure. I’m blessed to be a part of it!!
I had the amazing opportunity of working with the Cristian Rivera Foundation, and the eagerness of the board to make an impact on children with DIPG's lives was extremely impressive. The leadership of the organization is very motivated and makes sure that their mission and purpose is fulfilled to its greatest potential. Their hard work and motivation has helped so many diagnosed children and their families.
