Causes: Health, Reproductive Health Care, Reproductive Rights
Mission: The organization provides free pregnancy tests and limited obstetrical ultrasound; peer counseling for women and men; information on pregnancy, abortion and alternatives; post-abortion support groups for women and men; referrals for social services including medical care and adoption; mentoring for moms-to-be; maternity clothes, baby clothes and equipment; pregnancy and parenting seminars; and bible discussion groups. Services are provided by approximately 70 unpaid volunteers working along with and under the direct supervision of one full time and thirteen part time staff members.
Programs: Medical and counseling: medical services include pregnancy tests and limited obstetrical ultrasound screening. Patients are counseled re: options in ultrasound pregnancy, family, religious and personal issues. Number of contracts: 348, including 281 pregnancy tests, 173 ultrasound procedures (129 patients had both pregnancy test and ultrasound).
educational and material support: the parenting program provides education, counseling and mentoring to expectant or new parents. Men and women are provided with an educational curriculum dealing with pregnancy, parenting, spiritual and life skills information. Donated or purchased maternity clothing, baby clothing, diapers and baby equipment are provided to clients in the parenting program free of charge. Also includes general education efforts regarding the biblical authority for the sanctity of human life. Number of contracts: 610
