Causes: Health, Reproductive Health Care, Reproductive Rights
Mission: To increase public awareness of the availability of educational & supportive services and providing truthful information related to pregnancy and other available options.
Programs: Center services: provides no cost and confidential services to women, men and families who are faced with unplanned pregnancies. Services are provided by staff who oversees the center along with trained volunteer client advocates. Services included, but are not limited to, 24 hour helpline, pregnancy tests, abortion alternatives, limited ob ultrasound, limited sti testing, support services and community referrals. The pregnancy center collaborates with community agencies, medical facilities and local schools as an extension of services for investing in our community.
education: respect team (teen advocates) provide positive, thought provoking messages of postponing sexual involvement to their peers through skits, music, drama, and media presentations. These presentations are designed to shape sensible attitudes toward sexuality amoung teens by: providing teen role models, encouraging self respect, and teaching refusal skills. Teen and first time moms childbirth and parenting classes provide education on pregnancy, nutrition, bringing baby home from the hospital, breastfeeding, safety and the importance of medical care and regular health care provider appointments.
medical clinic: provided limited obstetrical ultrasounds to women for preganancy verification and viability. Along with the ultrasound women receive a health assessment, prenatal vitamins, education on fetal development, information on the importance of early prenatal care, healthy nutrition and referrals for medical care. Limited sti testing, treatment and referrals for medical care.
