Causes: Children & Youth, Crime & Law, Crime & Legal-Related, Crime Prevention, Youth Violence Prevention
Mission: To furnish law enforcement agencies with information on unsolved crimes, persons wanted by the law, and other criminal activity. Accomplished through our anonymous tipster program during which an individual can contact Crime Stoppers regarding any criminal activity. If the criminal activity leads to an arrest or the filing of criminal charges, the caller is eligible for a reward.
Results: Since our inception in 1981:
Target demographics: We offer services to our community residents, visitors, and law enforcement not only in South Florida, but nationally and internationally.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade and The Florida Keys served a community of over 3.4 million residents and visitors. We provide tips to over 44 law enforcement agencies in South Florida. Additionally, we take tips for several Carribean Islands and Belize. We are able to take and transfer tips to any Crime Stoppers Organization in the United States.
Geographic areas served: South Florida, between North Dade County-line and the southernmost city of Key West. This region covers over 2,200 square miles.
Programs:
Anonymous Tips and Rewards - Providing the community's means to report crime without being identified.
Gun Bounty - Offering a reward in Miami-Dade County for the arrest of individuals with guns who are not allowed to possess them.
Community Events - Providing information in the community regarding crime and crime prevention.
Assisting Families of Victims - We provide crime flyers, social media coverage, and other services to crime victims.
