Paula has helped me with two different possums in distress. Both had head injuries and were circling in the street. Polly, the 1st one she helped with, lived 6 happy months under Paula's care. She would have died without her! The second possum was in worse shape but. Paula still took her in and cared for her until she passed a few weeks later. I'm thankful everyday for people like Paula! Wild animals do not deserve to suffer terrible deaths alone. I always say "if you see something in distress HELP IT". Paula makes it possible to help these animals in need! She does amazing work!❤️
We found a racoon on our porch acting like it was hurt or sick. Contacted Crikey and they were out quickly to trap and take the raccoon into their care for evaluation. We are so thankful that there are organizations out there like this that care for the animals when they need help.
Reported them for displaying a rescued animal at a pet fest in Seminole heights found out it's against the law I've done rescue for 18 years and this poor raccoon was in the heat having a seizure while hier babies we're in a carrier under the table and probably 115° weather with the heat factor that day so I reported them to the Florida Wildlife Conservation commission it's unlawful to display a wild animal that is being rehabbed or rescued. Hopefully these people will have their license suspended in my whole years of rescuing I've never seen anything so inconsiderate and thoughtless as raccoons are nocturnal and they had him in the blazing sun with nowhere to get shade

The raccoon is a registered non releasable animal approved by FWC, and is allowed to be in public. She is NR because she has cerebellar hypoplasia, which affects her motion. She was not having seizures - that's just how she walks, hence the NR status. She was outside because it's hot in Florida and I'm not sure if you're aware, but every single wild raccoon is in the same heat. This raccoon had 2 fans on her and she was in the shade. She also had water. They were not her babies. The orphan babies (that require heat to regulate their body temp) were present but hidden, were there because they need to be fed every 2 hours and couldn't be kept at home, otherwise they would starve. Perhaps you need another 18 years of rehab experience to understand how rehabbing wildlife actually is. FWC didnt take your complaint seriously because you clearly didn't understand the situation. Next time, ask me, rather than risk having animals killed or left to die because of your uneducated opinion.
