Mission: To collect, preserve, and archive the oral histories of the people; past, present and future, of seminole county, florida and to present them back to the public in the form of community performances, also called a "folk life play". Mission statement: to fulfill big dreams by providing unlimited opportunities for instilling pride, stimulating economic elevation, and to preserve and promote our home town heritage for future generations.
Programs: In the 2013 year the board has met a decrease in revenue and fundraising revenues by co-op-ed the theater and partnering with three other non-partner theater groups which gives them a home for their seasons. This explains our increase in earned revenue and a higher accounts receivable. We successfully produces the the lord's supper, participated in seminole county 100 year celebration to reach out into the community and raise awareness of our community enrichment goals. We produced "dreamers and schemers", 500 years of florida along with the florida humanities council to provide history and awareness of the theater and our community performances. We held a "world community concert" to celebrate "love through music in sanford:" idea to heal the community's pain, with music after the trial of george zimmerman. Csi partnered with the holocaust center of maitland and the interfaith council of central florida to produce witness: and theatrical reading of krystall nacht events 75 years ago. Creative sanford partnered with the public history center, riches mosaic interface and the ucf history department: develop model for any community worldwide to put on a production of the history in their area as entertainment. We partnered with central florida community arts partners: candlelight christmas in december 2013, and a chorus in sanford under their auspices. Bring diverse music to community. The board and creative committee reworked our second folk life play and produced "made not bought" in october with audience attendance and community participation increase.
the year 2014 saw an increase in the number of theatrical performances by hosting four other non-profit theater groups throughout the year with a total audience served exceeding 3000 persons.
