I have worked with CCC for just over 4 years, and I can honestly say that I have become a better leader and community member because of it.
In their Leadership Development Program, I have learned how to effectively communicate and volunteer; their community programs have initiated instrumental efforts in bonding Atlantans of all backgrounds.
to me Creating Connected Communities (CCC) is more than just a non-profit organization. It is a place where I am able to develop and work on my leadership skills and learn how to benefit my community. The programs that CCC puts on is not just great for the volunteers to make an impact on the community but it also truly provides life-enhancing events for underserved children. As someone who has been a part of the program for five years, I can undoubtedly say that CCC powerfully impacts the lives of both its volunteers and its participants.
Creating Connected Communities has been able to build a highly-impactful, effective and sustainable program through their dual mission of providing programs for children experiencing hardship, while empowering teens to become engaged leaders and volunteers. Their programs work to combat the effects of poverty by providing care essentials, educational opportunities, and social/emotional support, while giving thousands of children and families opportunities to celebrate and build community. Through CCC's Leadership Development Program (LDP), teens learn to become our communities’ next generation of activists, problem-solvers and compassionate leaders. All participants actively learn and contribute to our diverse society through appreciation, acceptance and respect.
Creating Connected Communities is an amazing organization that I am involved in. I have been working with CCC for three years and serve as a Community Engagement Board Member of CCC's Leadership Development Program. This organization has meant a lot to my family for many years. I had volunteered at Amy's Holiday Party in the past, which made me realize that even as a middle schooler, I made an impact on someone's day. Becoming part of their Leadership Development Program (LDP) has allowed me to participate in this meaningful outreach work with a greater magnitude. I get to volunteer at all sorts of programs. Their GOAL programs give me the opportunity to make a connection to and spend time with a child one-on-one throughout the program. My personal favorite is their festivals. Working at stations surrounding arts and crafts, games, and sports allows me to see smiles on the faces of hundreds of children and families and really connects me to my community. In addition, LDP teaches me about social justice issues, philanthropy work, fundraising, and other leadership skills that I will be able to use and improve on throughout my life. I love CCC because not only does it allow me to make such an impact on my community, but also it has allowed me to meet Jewish teens from around Atlanta who share this passion with me!
IMPACTFUL! CCC is such a generous organization. With a passion for philanthropy, they select young leaders and teach them how to identify community needs within CCC's mission and bring those to fruition. CCC assists a large number of underprivileged Atlanta youth with care, support and, most memorably, parties and days of community fun and togetherness. We give with a smile to get a smile. It has always been a pleasure to support CCC!
CCC is fantastic! Teens are given a multitude of opportunities to learn about, develop, and practice their leadership skills in a safe and enjoyable way. Its focus on giving back and helping others in their local communities is amazing. CCC's Leadership Development Program takes this further by engaging interested teens even more deeply, giving them the tools to plan programs, fundraise, and learn the why's of what they are doing. 10 stars!!!
We have been in partnership with CCC for over a decade. The events and activities have only enhanced the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness.
The caring they show and express are amazing. The love and passion of CCC is seen in the way the team treats those who they serve. My family and I have proudly volunteered with Creating Connected Communities (CCC) since 2018. Seldom have we found an organization where our children can participate to give back to their community on such a grand scale, where they can feel the impact of how their time contributes to positivity. CCC provides a leadership curriculum for our teens that enables them to truly feel connected to the community they serve through creating continual interactions and camaraderie. The CCC Leadership Development Program (LDP) has grown leaps and bounds within the past 5 years and we are personally proud to be associated with such a remarkable non-profit organization.
I wanted to find a way to get my kids involved in giving back to the community. It's easy to donate money but it's hard to find a way to "dig in" and get involved with your children. I was so grateful when we found CCC; my four children and I purchased the supplies to create hundreds of "smile bags" which consisted of essentials like toothpaste, toothbrushes and fun things like stickers and lollipops, for children in need. This project brought my family together and made us feel like we were making a difference. Each year, we have gotten more and more involved in CCC and have encouraged our friends to do the same! We were so impressed with the work of CCC that I now serve on the board.
