Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: The mission of Crazy Cats Animal Rescue is to enrich the lives of communities in Greater Cincinnati by running a no-kill, foster-based, companion-pet rescue, dedicated to finding loving homes for homeless cats. For friendly cats, we have an adoption service. For feral cats (not friendly, not social), we proactively and humanely trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate, and return the cats to safe environments so that they no longer reproduce, but can live their lives in peace. We support ten feral cat colonies in our area with food, veterinary care, and ongoing monitoring of new free-roaming cats. Cats are our heart and our passion and we are making lives better one animal at a time. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.

I've been a fan and supporter of Crazy Cats Animal Rescue for years. I'm sure that the rescue stories they share are only a small fraction of the work they actually do for the well-being of many, many cats. They rescue in all sorts of weather, in locations far from their base, in conditions that would deter others.
When I agreed to foster Kellie ~ a pregnant, unwell cat they rescued in addition to those they had intended to bring to safety from a remote rural area ~ I believed it would be an uncomplicated case of caring for her until her kittens were born. However, she had multiple health issues and miscarried within mere days of arriving at my home. They promptly made arrangements for repeated vet visits and dealt graciously with my multiple texts and phone calls until precious Kellie regained her health.
This wonderful rescue is a blessing to cats and cat lovers.

Crazy Cats has stepped up, multiple times, for cats in their own neighborhood, and in places no one else would help. Their cats are always healthy, happy and fit right in to the homes they are adopted to. Their screening process is rigorous and complete, and fostering for them is easy and fulfilling. They work so hard to educate and promote community cats through TNR and educating those who know nothing about it and want to help. I cant recommend them enough if you are looking for your next pet, want to help with fostering, or want to learn about TNR. Crazy Cats Rescue has had a huge impact on so many lives. Mine included. All 6 of the cats in the photos below, got fabulous homes, because of Crazy Cats Rescue. They showed us how to do it, the right way.

I cannot say enough about this tiny but mighty rescue. The volunteers give their all to help community cats and cats in long-term foster/rescue care. All cats are under vet care. Numerous cats without hope owe their lives to Crazy Cat Animal Rescue.

This is a fantastic rescue group who does so much for the cats in need and for the community. Not only is their work endless--so is their compassion. Cincinnati is very fortunate to have them. The support they give to community cats and those who care about them--and additionally to the cats in their care--is truly amazing. They are strong advocates for cats in need and an asset to the community.

I have been familiar with Crazy Cats Animal Rescue for seven years and they are a top-notch rescue in every category. From trapping community cats for spay/neuter, helping others trap cats in their neighborhoods, providing outstanding medical care regardless of the condition, providing fosters for cats, to facilitating adoptions for so many cats--their efforts are endless. And in addition to all of the field work, they provide the best possible long-term care for cats who cannot be adopted for various reasons. They are truly dedicated to their cause. The number of cats helped by such a small, compassionate, volunteer group is amazing. The founders of this group give so much to the community through their endless work. Cincinnati is very lucky to have them.
