I have first-hand seen the amazing work that Covered has done for survivors of trafficking. I have volunteered for them in the past and can see the passion that each and every one of their team members has for the work they do.
I have been volunteering with Covered for two years and continue to do so as I believe in and support their mission. Not just to help survivors, but to empower them - there is a big difference in those two words. The first, while important, can be temporary and enabling; while the second inspires lifestyle changes, breaks cycles, and provides Hope. The act of empowering gives the survivors a voice and a choice. I have also seen firsthand how all the decisions the staff makes are for the best interest and well being of the survivors in their program. It is my honor to give both of my time and money to a non profit that is dedicated to the hard work of changing lives. One at a time. But each one matters.
I first started volunteering for Covered over 4 years ago. This was such a great cause and a great team to be a part of. I love knowing that my work will make a difference here locally.
Our family has been supporting the great work of this organization for several years. They do a great job of letting us know the impact our gifts are making and sharing their successes and challenges. They continue to grow their program while maintaining a great focus on their mission. And they are thoroughly committed to their values and vision. Their authentic desire to make a concrete difference helps us know that our gifts are part of an organization changing and saving lives.
I’ve been a donor for covered for several years now and finally am at a place where I can volunteer as well! There aren’t many organizations where you feel like the money/time you give actually is making a difference, but I have seen and felt that Covered is changing lives. The passion that Johanna has is contagious, and her desire to empower and protect the survivors is clear as day. Covered is doing incredible work, and all the people I’ve volunteered with have been fantastic! The 2022 impact report winning a financial clarity award should put anyone’s doubts to rest about donating, and if you go to any of Covered’s events, you’ll see that it is a supportive community and a wonderful cause!
I was looking to donate my time to an organization that worked with survivors of sex trafficking. The passion and kindness of all the volunteers and staff are incredible. Jo (the founder) truly has
a passion for assisting survivors and their healing. Working on the events team to raise money and raise awareness to our communities has been rewarding. I look forward to working with the organization for years to come.
The people at Covered are changing everything for survivors like me. I have been so thankful to be surrounded by people who care and want to make a difference. It gives me hope!
Covered Colorado is such an impressive organization. Their work to help get people out of trafficking and empower them to live free is truly inspiring! Jo (the founder) has an unparalleled passion for helping people, and works tirelessly to pour into the women that Covered helps.
I have been volunteering with Covered for about two months and I have loved it! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. The mission is incredible and the people are very driven and passionate about the cause. The group is incredibly intentional in everything they do and open to suggestions and ideas to continue to be more and more effective. I highly recommend voluteering with them!
I’ve been volunteering with Covered Colorado for over a year. I started as the executive admin and worked my way into writing grant proposals for them. It has been so fulfilling to be a part of this organization that supports women survivors of sex trafficking. I’ve met so many amazing volunteers, donors and supporters of Covered. 2022 was an exciting year as Covered prepared to open their first safe house in January 2023, only the second one in Colorado. Covered is on the search for their next safe home and can use your support.
By supporting Covered you are taking a stand against trafficking and making a difference.
Your donation helps survivors transition into a life where they can experience hope, and healing. Monthly giving provides a stable foundation for Covered and allows for continued growth so they can reach more survivors.
I’ve been volunteering with Covered for over a year. This is truly an amazing organization that helps get women out of sex trafficking and stay out of it. They have helped over 115 women so far. I would highly recommend volunteering for Covered!
Covered Corporation is an outstanding organization that is committed to helping restore people who have been through the horror of sex trafficking. Their program WORKS!!! Lives are restored, people are cared for and given the tools to work through the trauma and pain. This is a noble cause and Covered is an organization dedicated to making a difference in our community and in our world! Become a monthly donor - it will do your heart some good while it helps those who have been marginalized and forgotten to become cherished and restored!!!
I recently moved to Colorado and looked into volunteer opportunities. After reviewing the website for Covered and attending a few meetings, I have become quite impressed with the care they provide for survivors of sex trafficking. They have a well-structured plan which follows principles of trauma-informed care and a history of success as they have assisted 118 survivors in healing. These survivors participate in a two-year comprehensive program to help them not only find housing, but also develop life skills and learn independence. Covered is a good steward of their money as demonstrated by earning a gold star in the 2022 GuideStar Seal of Transparency. Now they are furthering their cause with a plan to open a house for those in the two-year program. Covered is doing good things in Colorado!
Covered has helped several survivors of human trafficking. They provided case management, mentors, counseling, assistance with housing, and more to survivors who were courageous and asked for help
Covered Colorado is an amazing nonprofit. I recently went to their fundraising event and got to hear from a survivor about the positive impact Covered made in her life.
We have a family member who is the victim of a crime. She did not tell anyone until she was 16 and so much damage has already been done. We see what this horrific experience has done to her, to her family and friends. That said, I knew I needed to be involved in an organization that makes things much better for survivors of trafficking. Johanna and her team are marvelous. Everyone has a helping heart, a great deal of experience from which to glean and a determination to continue this program no matter what.
Covered is transparent with all matters including donations. One never has to wonder if donations are being well spent. They are!
Two years ago I was at an event where I heard a speaker talk about Human Sex Trafficking.
Prior to this event, I had heard of it happening in other countries. As I continued listening to this speaker, I was very shocked and surprised to learn that Human Trafficking is happening right here in our own towns, our own cities, and our own backyards, all over the United States, and very much right here in Colorado.
When I was educated about the magnitude of how big of a problem this is, I knew I had to be a part of the solution. I knew I had to help in being a voice to educate others, and to walk along beside these beautiful survivors in their healing journeys. Helping them to have "Hope for their Futures".
My role as a Covered volunteer is the "Covered Community Coordinator." I plan fun events for the survivors throughout the year so they may start experiencing a healthy life outside of the trafficking lifestyle.
I also meet with the survivors once a week and provide dinner, where we can gather together to create community within the survivor group.
Creating Community is very important to these survivors, as many of them do not have any type of Community connection after leaving the trafficking lifestyle.
Seeing these survivors come together creating healthy relationships between one another, supporting one each other in their healing journeys, which is exactly what they need to have hope for their futures.
I am blessed to be a part of this amazing organization, Covered Colorado, making a difference in these survivors lives.
What a wonderful organization. I have only been involved for a short period, but can't wait to jump in and help as much as I can. All of the people are fantastic and caring. What a great cause.
I was so impressed with this organization's deep care to help survivors of sex trafficking that I became a volunteer! It's a tight run ship and you never have to worry if your donations are being misused. I highly recommend Covered to anyone looking to volunteer, donate or most importantly; needing assistance in coming into a new life of empowerment and hope.
I learned about Covered from a friend and heard about the wonderful work they are accomplishing in Colorado. I have since become a volunteer for Covered and believe in their mission and have seen the progress and restoration that they are bringing to the lives of those they serve. I fully recommend this non-profit and encourage others to learn more about Covered and give to them to support their work.
