Mission: Essex County CASA seeks to protect the well-being of the nearly 3,000 foster children - perhaps the most vulnerable, helpless and forgetten members of society - as they navigate the perilous world of the Essex County, NJ foster care system. Working on cases assigned by Family Court judges its volunteers act as the judges eyes and ears, providing them with information on services and assistance needed by the children to whom they've been assigned as well as helping to move these children toward safe, permanent homes.
Programs: Advocacy and mentorship: promote the welfare of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
