Mission: The mission of the council for nail disorders is to acquire and disseminate knowledge about normal and pathologic nails. This includes support and facilitation of research and education on the basic science, clinical, and pathologic aspects of the nail.
Programs: Annual meeting - brings members and others in the field together for the purpose of educating those in attendance on current developments in nail disorders and for the exchange of ideas. Provide educational programs and materials regarding nail disorders for physicians and other health care professionals
research grants and award programs - research grants are to fund research in the field of nail disorders. The grants are to be for one year, and the recipients are asked to report their progress and findings at the conclusion of the granting period. Mentoring and other awards - to help develop young leaders with investigative interest and expertise in nails. The intent is to foster mentoring relationships to encourage young investigators and clinicians (medical and podiatry students, residents, post doctoral fellows, and junior faculty) to acquire academic or investigative skills that will advance their careers as leaders in nail research.
