Mission: The specific purpose of this corporation is to offer a professional development program to equip teachers to enlist the arts as strategies across the curriculum; provided, however, that the corporation's purposes shall at all times be limited to and consistent with the basis upon which the corporation is granted tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended.
Programs: For fy17, cota conducted 108 artist/teacher collaborations with elementary school teachers at 6 schools in san diego county, offered 5 teacher development workshops, provided ongoing training for 20 artist-educators, presented at 4 conferences, and organized/led 13 parent sessions. During the year, 608 educators, 75 parents and 4,000 students were actively engaged in cota programs.
