Contemporary Art Museum St Louis

Programs: Exhibition programs: the contemporary art museum st. Louis (cam), a non-collecting institution, is internationally recognized for exhibitions of the most provocative, insightful, and urgently relevant contemporary art being made today. During fiscal year 2017 (the 2016-2017 season), cam presented twenty exhibitions, featuring prescient and seminal work by emerging and established artists, ranging from painting and scupture to social practice and participatory art, with four site-specific installations that transformed the facade and courtyard. In total, the museum exhibited more than 30 artists, highlighted the work of more than 150 artists through its annual open studios stl program, and served 32,111 visitors on-site and 158,674 visitors on-line.

public programs: in conjunction with its exhibitions, cam delivers art education to people of all ages by presenting a diverse line-up of public programs that include artist and curator lectures, art-inspired dinners, film screenings, unique workshops for families with young children, and a monthly neighborhood-wide art crawl. Cams public programs attract visitors to the museum, cultivate interest in art, and engage audiences of all ages. During fiscal year 2017, cam hosted over 80 programs, the majority of which were free.

education programs: cam is dedicated to fostering creativity and increasing access to the arts for the young people of st. Louis through free arts education initiatives. From in-depth pre-professional training like new art in the neighborhood and teen museum studies to broad school outreach initiatives like artreach and the mobile art studio artbus, cam is proud of the meaningful ways its programs make a difference to st. Louis youth. In fiscal year 2017, the museums education programs served more than 2,100 youth from the greater st. Louis area.
