Causes: Job Training
Mission: To develop and administer cost effective training, skills assessment, and other workforce development programs that will increase the quality and availability of construction and maintenance employees, communicate careeropportunities, promote a positive image for the industry, and satisfy the needs of owners, contractors and their employees in the greater houston area.
Programs: Construction industry craft courses utilizing the nationally standardized nccer curriculum were provided to 1686 students.
the high school program provides students with the opportunity to explore the construction industry; it gives cte teachers resources and new connections to the current happenings in the industry; and it encourages industry participation from companies who will seek to fill construction positions. There were 43 participating high schools and 5083 participating students in 2016.
in affiliation with associated builders and contractors of greater houston, in 2016 cmef provided non-craft, safety, and commercial training courses.
