Programs: In 2016-2017 cfi continued to propagate, stock and monitor smoky and yellowfin madtoms, citico darters, and spotfin chubs in tellico river with associated monitoring of citico creek and little tennessee river source populations for these species; to propagate and restore elk river boulder darters to shoal creek, with stockings at numerous sites above iron city, tn; to hatchery spawn and/or rear the following additional species/populations:sicklefin redhoarse, marbled darter, blotchside logperch, barrens topminnow, ashy darter, copper creek and the powell river populations of yellowfin madtoms for reintroduction into the north fork holston river. To also propagate spring pygmy sunfish, bluemask darters, buck darters, and okaloosa darters for various reintroduction projects. Additional field monitoring included little river (tn) (marbled darters,ashy darter), conasauga river (tn,ga) (particularly for conasauga logperch), redbird river system (ky)(kentucky arrow darters), indian creek system (ky) (cumberland darters), abrams creek (tn)(restored spp. ). Clinch river (va) (yellowfin madtoms), north fork holston river (va) (spotfin chubs), and big south fork cumberland river (ky) (tuxedo darters).
