I have been on the Board for almost 2 years. I have watched this non-profit grow and move with agility to find new and sustainable ways to serve its mission of partnering and creating relationships with others to coordinate physical access, communication, and safety services in Minnesota.
Every decision made is looked at through the lens of is this sustainable and how does it support our Vision of empowering people with physical and invisible barriers to achieve their potential.

This organization is doing a wonderful job for individuals with disabilities, not only in central Minnesota where they are located, but throughout the entire state as well. The executive director and all of the staff have put their time and energy into creating an organization that is client focused, hard working, and extremely passionate about the programs they offer. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is struggling to find disability related resources or programs.

When the invitation was extended to join the board I was drawn to join and serve this organization because of the mission and the vision Sheri Wegner had for its future. ConnectAbility of MN offers services to those with disabilities by removing barriers they experience and to empower them to lead more fulfilling lives. ConnectAbility strives to serve their community well and is always looking at ways to provide even more value.

I was offered a volunteer position as a parent advocate on the board of directors at Connectability in December of 2020. I was previously on the board of an up-and-coming nonprofit, prior to the pandemic. The ideas and the enthusiasm of every other member of this organization is so incredibly refreshing! The last year has been a massive year of growth, and it's been done in a way that is strategic and intentional, to ensure that it sticks. I am so proud to be part of this organization, and will be recommending them to anybody and everybody I know long after my terms on the board have been served. The ideas and plans that have begun unfolding this last year are going to make such a tremendous impact on my community, who so desperately needs it. There isn't a single day where I don't wake up proud to be part of the cause, and I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to touch so many lives in such a profound way.

Through the leadership of the Board of Directors, the organization rebranded, renamed, realigned to better reflect the services provided to people in MN with physical and invisible barrier. It was also through their leadership, the organization services were strengthen and expanded through a larger area across Minnesota. Additional programs were created to support people and families that had financial need and accessibility equipment needs.
The board of directors have created a strong leadership team that works in harmony with the staff. This is a wonderful organization that is living up to the mission and vision statements every day.

I served on the Board of UCP-CM for nine years and I was never more impressed with the services provided by this agency! The number of people the agency has been able to assist is remarkable, considering the small number of staff. The executive director, Judy Moening, has provided exemplary leadership for about 30 years. And, her very capable assistant, Marilyn Possin, is equally dedicated to the UCP-CM mission. They just recently held a Halloween Party for children with disabilities and their families that truly brought smiles to a multitude of kids! The Halloween Party is just one of MANY worthy programs under the UCP-CM umbrella. For over 57 years, UCP-CM has been serving people who are living with the challenges of living with a disability.
