Mission: The mission of the conductive education center of orlando is to combine physical and social educational methods to meet the unique needs of motor disabled children, to enable them to maximize their individual potential of functionality and independence in a safe, caring group environment.

Programs: Program - school day classes. This private school day program incorporates a conductive education and special education blended program for students with cerebral palsy ages 5-22 years old. Each student works to accomplish his or her individual goals set by their individualized education plan (iep). Educational programming is guided by the florida department of education academic standards (common core and access points) while infusing the holistic elements of the conductive education motor learning program. The children are constantly stimulated throughout the entire day with self-care skills training, motor skill building, sensory processing and group and individual educational activities. This program had 32 students participate in during the 2016 fiscal year.

program - after school programs. The walking challenge program is a program for students who attend public school during the day, but require conductive education to help them develop to their physical potential. The walking challenge focuses primarily on developing physical stamina in children with cerebral palsy so they can improve their balance, walking speed and strength. Walking challenge ensures that the students are maintaining their skills, and moving to the next level of independence. This program runs monday-friday from 2:00pm to 5:00 pm. This program had 19 students participate during the 2016 fiscal year.

program - summer camp. Our annual summer camp is an intensive conductive education program with the focus on increasing physical and social independence. The daily routine includes programs to develop gross motor, fine motor and selfcare skills. Over 30% of our enrollment for summer camp is derived of out of state or international families. Ceco's summer camp offers campers 5 hours a day of one-to-one conductive therapy. This program had 51 students participate during the 2016 fiscal year.

I enrolled my son in this program at age 6. Having multiple disabilities, he was not able to crawl or walk among many other things. By this age, I had nearly "given up" on him ever crawling, much less walking, in an effort to focus on other developmental milestones. The specially trained teacher - called a Conductor - saw things differently. With the one-on-one program, my son learned to crawl within the year! Despite having to overcome multiple medical issues, my son has continued to blossom at CECO and they continue to support him and encourage him to be the best he can be! He is 17 years old now, walks with assistance, can pedal and steer a bike himself, propel his own wheelchair, among many others amazing things!
My educational and professional experience is that of a Special Education Teacher.....CECO is where MY son goes!

My son has attended this school for the past 5 years and they have worked miracles with him! When he first started at the school, he couldn't even sit up on his own. With the help of 1 on 1 assistance, he is now able to hold your hand and walk. The teachers and assistants at the school make it feel like a family because they care so much about the kids. There isn't a school like it in the area. They help children be able to live a more independent life. They are a non-profit and try to keep the tuition affordable which is only able to be done through donations. If you want to see how your donations will be put to use, I highly recommend that you visit the school. It will warm your heart!
