Concrete Safaris is passionate about enabling youth to live full, healthy lives and become leaders in shaping their communities and environment. As an advisory board member, I see the dedication, persistence, enthusiasm, creativity, and respect that CS brings every day to all aspects of its work, and the big impact it has on children and young people who participate, as well as on their families and others in the East Harlem community.

Concrete Safaris is a wonderful organization committed to educating East Harlem youth about the importance of outdoor exercise and eating organic, locally sourced produce. Through growing their own fruits and vegetables in the Mad Fun Farm, Concrete Safaris creates an interactive, hands-on learning experience for its students. Having led corporate volunteer events at Concrete Safaris and other local organizations several times over the last couple of years, the Concrete Safaris events consistently have some of the highest volunteer satisfaction and retention rates (many people who do one Concrete Safaris event return to do others). I think this speaks to the caliber of the work Mac does and the importance of an organization like Concrete Safaris!
