Mission: Computers for Youth (CFY) helps low-income children do betterin school by improving their learning environment at home.
Programs: Take IT Home is CFY's cornerstone program. Through this program we offer each participating family with: Free family-focused training that teaches children and parents how to use their CFY computer as a family to strengthen core academic skills. All families attend a workshop where they use a computer they then take home. A free computer packed with educational software titles, free subscriptions to engaging math and reading sites, and access to learning games at MyHomeLearning.com. Robust technical support from CFY's bilingual help desk open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CFY's trained technicians also provide free computer repairs and servicing. Additional training designed to give parents strategies for engaging in home learning activities. These workshops are open to families from all middle-school grades.
