Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animal-Related, Animals

Mission: Since 2013, C.A.R.E. Medical Fund has provided emergency medical funding and assistance to companion animals in our shelters. What would normally deem a shelter pet as unadoptable due to treatable illness or age, we provide the funding for life-saving procedures that give hope. Our rescue is dedicated to helping homeless pets in our community find their second chance through medical intervention, education and community programs. C.A.R.E. Medical Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

We fostered Luna for CARE Medical Fund and the President/Founder Audrea always kept in touch with us to see how Luna was doing and if we had any needs or concerns. We always felt supported while fostering Luna and it's very apparent that CARE Medical Fund loves, cares for and is committed to each dog they rescue as if they were their own. Luna is now a part of our family as we adopted her after fostering her for six months. We happily support CARE Medical Fund and the amazing work they are doing to help the sick and injured animals get the chance they deserve.

I have fostered for CARE for 8 years. CARE takes dogs from shelters whose lives are on the line due to medical issues - vet care is paid for & then quality forever homes are found.

CARE is a top of the line non profit! CARE pays medical bills for animals that might otherwise be euthanized for lack of funds to be treated.

CARE Medical Fund is so very important to many animals that find themselves sick or injured and needing medical care they otherwise couldn't get, much like a dog named Tyra who was found as a stray and determined to be critically ill from neglect and a horrible case of Valley Fever left untreated. Tyra's condition was decimating every aspect of her body and she was in the most delicate balance of life and death. CARE Medical Fund acted quickly to get her vet care and paid for all her medical that encompassed her care. I can tell you with certainty that if not for CARE Medical Fund our beautiful, strong, smart and loving dog would not be a completely adored member of our family today where she is thriving and loving every single day of the chance she was given by CARE Medical Fund. We will always support CARE Medical Fund, donate much needed funds and will be forever grateful that they saved her life so she could be part of ours.

I've had many experiences with this nonprofit. They are one of my favorites! My pig Pixie came into Apache Junction Animal Control with a broken hoof and needing medical attention. She came to me as a Foster and I later adopted her.

Incredible group that help so many animals! I got my Lexi from them years ago after she was treated for Parvo. Without this groups help I wouldn’t have been blessed with my little angel.

years ago I adopted a C.A.R.E. medical senior lab. They had taken such good care of her and continued to do so even after the adoption. C.A.R.E. really cares about their animals and they are passionate about what they do.

They do amazing work helping less adoptable shelter pets by assisting with their medical needs. I am blessed to work with such a generous and compassionate organization through our Veterinary hospital. It's because of CARE that many animals have been placed into loving homes, including ours!

So many animals given a second chance for a happy life thanks to medical interventions sponsored by CARE. Our kitty Jack (now one-eyed Jack) was the first, and a doggy toe operation last week the most recent. In between there have been five + years of lives saved. CARE run by a dedicated and extremely hard-working group of volunteers.

C.A.R.E is a wonderful, generous organization that gives where and when the need is absolutely necessary to save a life. I volunteer at a city shelter in Apache Junction, AZ, a poor community that struggles to support it’s human population much less it’s four-legged population.

Funds for the shelter are meager and C.A.R.E. steps in to provide funds for desperately needed medical care for the unwanted, lost and abandoned, but otherwise adoptable animals that cross the shelter’s doorstep. Without C.A.R.E’s financial support, adoptable pets would never find the loving, caring homes they deserve.

C.A.R.E is a wonderful organization that helps shelter animals with medical issues. If not for C.A.R.E these animals would surely not make it out of the shelter. They are a vital part of our community . C.A.R.E finds forever homes for these less than perfect animals and brings families and animals together.

Our cat Jack was the very first recipient of a C.A.R.E. grant. He was found hanging around a dumpster behind the Paws and Claws Care Center in Apache Junction five years ago. One of his eyes was so badly damaged it could not be saved. C.A.R.E. paid for the surgery to remove his bad eye. He is a beautiful and loving cat, and has brought us more joy than I can say. Since then C.A.R.E. has treated many, many animals, giving them back their lives. Thank you C.A.R.E. for being there for Jack... and for us.

I met founder, Audrea Donnelly, while volunteering with Arizona Labrador and Giant Breed Rescue. I've followed her increasing contributions to the rescue community as she branched out into her photography business, Twelve Paws Photography, where she takes incredible images of adoptable dogs to help them get adopted more quickly, all for no charge. Then, I watched as she, on her own, created C.A.R.E. She finds animals in need, determines what needs to be done, raises funds, then assists in placing the animal in a loving adoptive home. She does this while maintaining her non profit photography business, maintaining ALGBR's website, taking charge of promoting these animals on social media, and taking care of a husband and two adorable boys. Audrea is the perfect example of love and passion in action. Her work with C.A.R.E. heals sick and injured animals, completes families who desire a pet, as she selflessly shares her time and talents with the animals and people who need help. Audrea has the effect of throwing a big boulder in a pond. The ripples of her dedication and hard work are so big that they reach the far edges of pain and suffering to provide hope and healing.
