We had a family of 4 move in with us, a family of 5, in July to help them get on their feet from moving from another state. We only had 2 adults working at the time while others were out of work for various reasons. We were really struggling with paying bills let alone feeding 9 people. Someone had posted on local FB page about community link and it was an answer to our prayers. The volunteers were super nice and the amount they gave us in good definitely helped us get through that overwhelming slump. We are very thankful we found such a wonderful place to help our family.
Being a senior citizen a fixed income is something to adjust for. With the increasing prices of many other things Community Link has been a blessing to me in assisting with my food needs. One going to the location the staff treat you like family, they're smiling and courteous and never do they make you feel uncomfortable they make you feel loved. Thank you for your assistance and all your help that you are providing the community.
This organization continues to amaze me, serving 100s of families every month. And when there’s a need, the community responds. I’m only able to volunteer on Saturdays. Every month, I am humbled by the clients we serve. My family has been blessed and I try to share those blessings whenever I can.
I have been involved as a volunteer with Community Link since the very beginning (June 2005) when a group from four area churches met to discuss how to address food insecurity in the Saginaw and surrounding areas. We opened in a small house a year later and haven't looked back. It has been exciting to watch this organization grow and serve this community. I am honored to work directly with the clients, hear their stories, cry with them, laugh with them, and be blessed by them (yes, volunteers are blessed often more than the clients). The entire community has gotten behind this organization by donated inventory, holding food drives, donating $$, and sending volunteers every time the doors are open. Fighting hunger, giving hope (a motto we could all embrace). Thank you Community Link for all you do.
I have donated to this organization over the years. It wasn't until the past few months, that I started volunteering as one of the people who gathered the groceries for the clients. After a few months, I started interviewing clients. Now they have computerized their client information to better serve the clients.
This organization has wholeheartedly embraces their clients without judgment. They have increased helping people through Back to School drives which include back packs full of school supplies, haircuts, eye exams, etc. During Christmas they have a huge drive to provide gifts for needy families to select from. I'm very proud to say I'm a volunteer of Community link.
I’ve been helping out at Community Link for a few years now as a ‘shopper.’ After a client has a list filled out, I take that list and ‘shop’ for that client. Sometimes there’s only one person for that list; sometimes 8 or more. I gather everything from shampoo, canned veggies, fresh fruit, frozen meats, dairy....everything that a family needs to help feed them during a difficult time. Everything is put into grocery bags, then we load our items into their car. What really grabs your heartstrings is when a little child, waiting in the backseat, will grab something from those items to eat because, as their mom/dad/grandparent/guardian explains, there was no breakfast that morning and their little child was hungry. Makes you realize this place really makes a difference.
Community Link has been very helpful to our family and we’ve been blessed beyond measure! Sometimes everyone just needs a little to get by on and they (volunteers) do it with such a humble heart it doesn’t feel like we are less than any other!!
I’m a volunteer at Community Link. I LOVE working here. Not only is the staff great but so are the other volunteers & the clients. I have a great time & it is very obvious by the “thank yous” that we get from the clients that we are needed & necessary.
I come to the food bank out of necessity the volunteers are so friendly and treat us with respect and dignity. I'm often reminded of how Jesus fed the masses with loafs of bread and fishes. Without the wonderful people who donate with all of their heart I would go hungry or digging through trash you not only feed my body but my soul. Thank you
This is a great organization! I was visiting my friend when a couple of members of the mission delivered a trailer for his bicycle. They had seen that for him to take home the food they provided required several trips back and forth, as the amount of cargo space on a bicycle is pretty scarce, and wanted to make things easier for him. I was really impressed by their kindness.
Community Link helped me bless my grandchildren for Christmas, after their Dad had heart surgery. My grandson is 7 and played all day Christmas with the special toys and gifts and kept saying "this is the Best Christmas ever"!! It was as if God picked out his toys just for him!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME & HELP WHEN THINGS WERE DIFFICULT!!
Amazing so glad!! If it wasn’t for you guys my family would have had some Hungry months. I found an amazing job because you guys posted they were hiring, I’m now getting a promotion at said wonderful job. So thankful to what you guys do everyday!!
Community Link is making a daily impact in the lives of those North Texans in need. I have been and continue to be amazed at the generosity that has blessed this mission. More is needed as more can be done. A heavy load is being carried to support this amazing effort and it is ideal to help distribute that load. If you can volunteer, give, or support them in any way you will be making an immediate impact in your community.
Coconuts were one of the fresh fruits offered to clients one day. I was amused, not knowing how I would even open one, as I read the grocery list to my first client. A woman, almost 80 years young, was about to select items to feed herself for the next month, and she giggled like a child while choosing a coconut. I asked how she knew how to open them, and she told me her story. As a child, growing up in the Philippines, it was her job to climb the coconut palms and bring down the coconuts for her family. Her story unfolded one block from the iconic Saginaw silos storing grain for bread to feed families.
This is just one amazing story that I have been privileged to hear as I weekly interview clients at the Community Link food pantry. We are the largest food pantry serving NW Tarrant County, including 7 zip codes with 9 municipalities. I support Community Link because we serve people: veterans, homeless, single parents, grandparents raising grandchildren, unemployed, disabled persons, seniors, teens and children. People live in apartments, houses, mobile homes, cars, in relatives and strangers homes, and in low-income housing. Men and women, who have lost their jobs or health, have wept at my desk, as we filled out the paperwork for assistance because they never imagined asking for anything, yet their families are hungry. Thankfulness is expressed weekly by multiple clients for the quality of products and care they receive from staff and volunteers.
This agency offers hope, respect, compassion, and sustanance to people navigating the trials and joys of their lives. I am honored to serve in the ministry of Community Link.
Community Link is a wonderful, caring organization that provides food to a multi-zip code area in North Fort Worth and the Saginaw area. As a volunteer, I get to see the appreciation of the clients and the grace and generosity of a community that cares about their neighbors. This is a great place to give a few hours of your time to help others.
I have volunteered at Community Link for about a year before serving as a board member. I was impressed from day one with how well organized their operation is and the volume of clients that they serve. The staff and volunteers immediately made me feel like family. Seeing all of the happy children at the annual back to school and Christmas events is a blessing that warms the heart. This organization actively demonstrates the greatest commandment of loving God and loving our neighbors. Thanks to the staff for all of they do!
This place has a friendly and welcoming staff that work hard to serve the people of this community. Their compassion is contagious and inspiring. Every time I leave, I leave a slightly different person-one who cares more and loves deeper. They have that kind of impact and I'm grateful for every visit.
I'm an elderly widow without the food bank I wouldn't have anything to eat. They are a God send the volunteers always treat me with respect I love them all
I have been involved with Community Link for a number of years and I have to say that it is one of the best organized and well run organizations I have volunteered with. They work together for the common cause and are fully committed to helping those in need within our community.
I consider it a priveledge to serve Community Link during their various events for the community. The staff are incredible people and I believe they are making a positive impact on society.
What a wonderful organization! Whenever we volunteer we truly have fun and the people that are served by the Community Link are special folks. This is such an important resource to the Saginaw and surrounding communities. The dedicated individuals that operate Commuinty Link Mission are truly inspiring people. What a blessing.
