Programs: Relying primarily on volunteer attorneys to provide free legal services to the poor in our community, clp presently enrolls a panel of approximately 410 volunteer attorneys in the st. Petersburg area. In 2017, 126 attorneys who actively participated donated $510,900 worth of legal services to our community. Clp's services/programs include: (1) the operation of 15+ free legal advice clinics each month on various legal issues where clients can meet with volunteer attorneys one-on-one or in a classroom setting to receive legal advice and information and/or assistance with preparing court forms; (2) direct representation to clients based upon program priorities; (3) free legal assistance as part of specialized projects; and (4) education of the general public about legal rights and responsibilities. Using a combination of these services in 2017, we helped 910 unduplicated individuals, families and non- profit organizations in need of free legal assistance. We helped recover over $301k in financial benefits on behalf of these clients. We also provided legal information and referrals to other community resources to an additional 2,330 pinellas county residents.
