I worked as a consultant with Community Health Care in Tacoma for more than 10 years, telling all who would listen about the wonderful care they provide to all their patients regardless of ethnicity or ability to pay. My job was helping them raising funds from the community to further their mission. When my personal physician retired, I decided to put my money where my mouth was and become a patient. I was curious if all the good things I said about the organization actually carried through to the patients - could the patients feel the care and respect I was so enthusiastically relaying. I can tell you, after 3 years as a patient, I've never had better service or a medical provider team that was more willing to work with me to stay healthy. I am a true believer in the CHC health system operating throughout Pierce County Washington.

Mission: Community health care provides comprehensive primary medical and dental care through a clinic system that includes seven medical and three dental clinics. In addition, care is also provided through a women's health clinic.

Chc continues to support two residency programs: 1. A family physician residency program that accepts 6 residents each year for a total of 18 residents during a 3 year program; and 2. A family advanced registered nurse practioner residency program. During the fiscal year ended 5/31/17, chc provided 32,228 patients with medical care from 116,123 patient visits at 5 medical clinics.
