Causes: Employment Preparation & Procurement, Job Training
Mission: To enable participants to attain self sufficiency by providing them with all the tools necessary to obtain and maintain their economic independence.
Programs: State of florida - office of the attorney general: this program provides at risk youth ages 16-21 with screening and assessment, employability skills training, career exploration, work experience and direct job placement. We also provide bus passes in order to assist with their job search. (94 bus passes) last year (2017), 200 participants were offered 79 hour internships and the remaining participant were offered 40 hour internships with a private industry and paid by our agency. Additionally, we had 23 direct placements that were placed in full or part time paid positions with a private industry.
refugee employment and training program: provides recent immigrants with eligibility screening and assessment, employment counseling, referrals and job placement services. During 2017 we served 731 individuals. We placed 739 refugees in unsubsidized employment.
wia out of school program: provides out of school youth ages 16-24 with case management services, life and work maturity training, academic and ged training, financial assistance with post secondary training, work experience and direct placement. During 2017 we served 325 youth of which 120 improved their basic skills and 59 obtained a credential. No participants have been exited and 147 were placed in unsubsidized employment.
variety of local agency funded grants and contracts in which the organization uses those funds to offer job related support services including vocational training, job training, counseling and assessment, guidance, case management, employment services and home delivery of meals to eligible elderly participants.
