I choose to support CARS for one reason: the people. First, it's a local non-profit organization made of local folks that I know personally - people that I respect and admire. Second, I have heard from several "riders" and "drivers" and I am moved by how much they help each other - yes - the riders help the drivers as much as the other way around. It's a wonderful organization that we are so lucky to have here in our town.

Community Assisted Rides (CARS) is a essential service to the senior community. Without them my husband and I would be suffering some financial hardships.
My husband's a diabetic and he doesn't have transportation with his health insurance. I have made some small donations but it's hardly enough to thank them for all that they do.
The volunteers bend over backwards to give you the services that you are necessary to you.
These people are not just volunteers their angels.
Thank you

As a volunteer with Interfaith Community Partners, I witness the value of this ministry through the eyes of those who aren't able to drive. The simple act of giving someone a ride allows them to stay connected to the community and its service providers, to have welcome social interaction, to take care of necessary medical appointments, or to shop for themselves. Sometimes I shop for them if they are unable. Many clients are able to remain in their own homes because they have this need met. Interfaith is an efficiently run organization and being a volunteer is easy and satisfying.

Volunteering with ICP has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I get to help seniors with rides they wouldn’t normally have access to, and each one has a unique story to share. They often express how much this organization has transformed their lives by providing the mobility they otherwise wouldn’t have. This service is vital for our community, ensuring seniors can stay active and social. I only wish a similar service was available in my parents’ community—it would be fantastic.

InterFaith Community Partners provides me with an incredible opportunity to meet and serve my neighbors. I’ve gotten to know some amazing individuals, hear some incredible stories, and feel like I’m using my “spare time” to make a difference in the lives of the people in my community. I’m so grateful for the organization and care that ICP puts in to creating a great experience for clients and volunteers alike.

Interfaith Community Partners provides much-needed rides to older adults in our community. Transportation options are limited for many senior citizens and the service ICP provides is so helpful in getting individuals to their medical appointments and other local destinations. In addition, the volunteer drivers are outstanding. Their kind, personal attention makes riders feel as if they are being driven by a friend. Interfaith Community Partners is a fantastic nonprofit in our community!

ICP provides such a valuable service to our older adults. It also helps the “sandwich” generation juggle responsibilities in their dual roles as parents of their own kids and children and caregivers to their parents.

ICP is an organization that is available to the older members of society who no longer drive go to various places. Sounds so utilitarian but in actuality it is life giving. Imagine you live alone and need to go to your various doctors ( God knows as we age we schedule many doctor visits or need treatment for various reasons - first question is how do you get to the appointment? ICP has over 100 driver volunteers who schedule the ride with what call a client. The scheduled ride is just the beginning of the journey - client and volunteer driver go the the appointment not in silence but in communication and communication and human to human relationship is something many clients living alone truly love. I am a volunteer and I drive over 60 times a year various clients and they all love the opportunity to tell me there life journey story - some of my clients are one time encounters and others are over and over- one 83 year old blind client and I go food shopping, go to the blood bank to give a pint , go to have toe nails trimmed and we often go to lunch together after his appointment - He always thanks me but honestly I receive more from him I have his friendship - I have discussed with other drivers of ICP clients and they all have experienced the same bonding - I have been involved with ICP for over 9 years - this is ride/friendship service being provided with over 70 rides each week I am Blessed to be a part of the fantastic organization

I was 1st a client, then because of how much ICP helped me, became a volunteer. 2 years ago I had a horrific accident. On my table saw I accidentally cut off 3 fingers. Intensive care, a lot of physical therapy, a new challenging daily life was in store for me. I wasn't allowed to drive to PT and was in a quandary as to how to get to my appointments. You can only depend upon friends so much and I didn't want to be a burden. After calling several organizations, ICP sent drivers to take me to and from my appointments 3 times. This was during covid. I was so very thankful for their help. The drivers were warm and friendly. Also during this time, on Valentines Day I received a little box of chocolates to my huge surprise via ICP. I haven't celebrated Valentines Day in decades & began to weep I was sooo touched and felt I special on this day of hearts & love. I learned about the organization and their various services. I found out they deliver flower arrangements on seniors birthdays. Since I was a former florist I volunteered for that. The organizer, Amy, is a positive, joyful gal and it is pleasure working with her, creating floral arrangements especially knowing a senior will receive it. ICP is an amazing organization full of people who care deeply about others. I am happy and feel blessed to participate in the organization.

Interfaith Community Partners fills a void for senior citizens without other access to transportation. Trips for seniors to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, physical therapy, and many other locations are completed by a group of dedicated volunteers throughout the western suburbs. ICP continues to expand its service area to meet the ever increasing need for their services. May this organization continue to thrive!

I served as a driver for two years before I moved. The coordinators are friendly and supportive, and you have unlimited flexibility in determining the days/times you want to drive. Most importantly, it’s extremely rewarding to help people who depend on this service to get to appointments. You have the opportunity to develop wonderful relationships!

The La Grange area community is very fortunate to have Interfaith Community Partners. This nonprofit provides rides to older adults to get to appointments and also delivers library books and is now partnering with a local church to deliver meals. All this is done by dedicated volunteers who love ICP’s mission.

My mom who is 90 found out about ICP last year from someone in her condo building. They have been so good to her! I work full time so I can’t get her to Dr appointments. They have a great system of scheduling and assigning volunteers. They can even take her Rollator and help her in and out of the office. I also am a volunteer for ICP, delivering library books on Saturday. Wonderful services! Definitely 5 stars!

What an amazing organization. So many people in the community volunteer and understand the importance of working closely with ICP to assist our seniors ! I helped work on the committee this year for their annual fundraiser and what an amazing event to remind us all that each one of us will age and we all need help down the road. Everyone should consider volunteering and definitely contributing to their mission at their annual fundraiser !

I have donated to ICP for several years now and I always feel confident that my donation is being managed most efficiently and effectively to serve the clients of ICP. I feel the services provided by ICP are so very important for aging senior citizens to maintain their independence. The rides provided to ICP clients ensure they will get safely to their destination. Not only have I donated to ICP, I have also been able to be a volunteer making deliveries to ICP clients on a few occasions. Whether it was soup to warm them up on a cold winter's day, flowers to brighten their day, or a sweet treat/bag around Valentine's Day. With every delivery I feel I was the one getting the treat as the smile and appreciation of the ICP client warmed my heart as well as theirs.

Interfaith community partners is a wonderful non profit. The staff really takes care of their volunteers and clients. I was so thankful for the life I have, the people in it and wanted to show our lady (Mother Mary) that I appreciate all that I have been given/taken care of in this lifetime. I made a promise to her in prayer that I would give my time and service to others in return. So I started googling and came across interfaith driving for seniors. Since I have started its very convenient to schedule a time to drive around a very busy schedule and on top of that the clients we drive are the best. I haven't had one bad experience and continue to volunteer.

We operate a non-medical, private duty home care agency in the geographic areas that ICP provides its transportation services. Throughout the year, we receive many requests from older adults and families for transportation to/from appointments and events. We always refer these requests to ICP. They have an excellent Executive Director and Volunteers who are passionate about serving older adults and meeting their transportation needs. There truly is no other organization like ICP and we are grateful for their existence in the senior services industry.

Our home care agency has been involved with ICP since we started our business in 2002. We provide assistance to older adults in their homes and very often our clients no longer drive and require transportation. ICP has filled a vital niche in the community as a go-to source for transportation for seniors. We refer to ICP regularly and, without any reservation, can say they perform an outstanding service to our community. As a donor throughout the years, we hope that our contributions have helped sustain their mission and provide this valuable resource.

I contacted this organization and offered my services to shop for older adults at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic. They responded immediately and connected me with several clients that needed groceries and prescriptions. I was pleased to learn that they vet their volunteers thoroughly so that their clients are safe. These older adults may have no other resources to help them get to their medical appointments at this time and Interfaith provides that service. I discovered that they have a real community experience going on there and I am proud to be a part of it. It has been so rewarding for myself and the response from the clients I have encountered has been so positive. The contact and interaction between volunteer and older adult is life changing!!

I love being a volunteer for Interfaith Community Partners (ICP), which has offices located in LaGrange, IL. Our mission is to help seniors maintain their independence in the community by providing rides to doctor & physical therapy appointments for Care Partners, who no longer drive, & taking them grocery shopping & to hair appointments. The Seniors are so grateful for this service, & can’t thank me enough! However, I’m the one continually grateful for meeting & getting to know our wonderful Care Partners! Everyone is so unique & has a special life story to share. It’s gratifying & humbling to know that as volunteers for Interfaith Community Partners we’re providing an important transportation service, as well as making many new & wonderful friends!

As a volunteer with ICP, I've worked with local libraries to deliver books to homebound seniors and senior living facility residents. I think it's great we can brighten someone's day in this way. At the same time, I am grateful for the friendships I've formed with our seniors and librarians. I've also come to understand that older adults face unique challenges in life. With that, I’m glad my volunteer work with ICP is one avenue through which I can help.

Interfaith Community Partners loving and professionally serves our greater community as well as our smaller community of Plymouth Place Senior Living. They provide our residents with rides to and from medical appointments and arrange for flowers to be delivered to brighten our residents' days. This is an organization a number of our residents choose to support with their time and their gifts, as well, because they see the real-life impact felt by seniors in our region. We are fortunate to have Interfaith Community Partners in our community!
