Programs: Policy - the crfb policy team is committed to educating the public about issues with significant fiscal policy impact. This work includes ongoing research and development of policy resources; policy papers; a blog entitled the bottom line; analysis of current fiscal issues; and technical support to media, members of congress and their staff, and the public.
public engagement - the public engagement team seeks to educate the public and organizations about the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing the national debt. This team engages key communities - including policymakers, media and the business community and general public on the need to address our nation's long term fiscal challenges.
initiatives - the organization develops key initiatives to address burning fiscal issues. Currently the organization has two initiatives - the mccrery-pomeroy ssdi solutions initiative ("ssdi") and fix the system. Ssdi is dedicated to identifying practical policy changes to improve the social security disability insurance program which is only two years from insolvency. Fix the system identifies areas most ripe for political reform and develops policy and structural recommendations.
