Combat Veterans to Careers helps our veterans in every way! The non profit works hard to give back to the men and women that served for us!

CVC helped us to launch our full service restaurant--our dream. They sent both myself and my veteran husband to Entrepreneur Veteran Bootcamp programs, helped with job placement, assisted us in securing two scholarships, wrote letters of recommendation, assisted us with our first home loan, offered emotional support through a veterans-only therapy fishing trip, and even helped us get a new air conditioner for no charge when ours went out in the middle of a Florida Summer. They have been nothing but immensely supportive of my husbands post-deployment employment and mental health journey. They continue to support us by sending customers to our restaurant, hosting events at our restaurant and buying gift card for their volunteers for our restaurant. We are truly and forever grateful to them.

I've personally witnessed this incredible non-profit organization in action providing support to veterans and the community. Combat Veterans to Careers is a top-notch organization that not only provides services to veterans transitioning to new careers but also offers resources to ensure veterans and their families are on track to live successful and fulfilling lives. I absolutely love working with this nonprofit. The folks at CVC put the veterans first in everything they do. Combat Veterans to Careers is an amazing organization. I have been with them for over 6 years and every day is rewarding to know that we are helping Combat Veterans, at our Thrift Store and Clothing Boutique, 90 cents to every dollar goes to our Veterans and their families. Recently CVC helped one of our Veterans and his wife open their long-time dream restaurant/Pub, McCracken's Irish Pub in Leesburg and to see how far they have come, thanks to CVC is amazing.

Combat Veterans to Careers (CVC) makes things happen! Run by a medically retired Sergeant, CVC focuses exceptionally well on assisting Veterans in need of life adjustments--jobs, training, housing, etc.

Restoring Hope is a great place to shop and volunteer. The staff is friendly and assist shoppers in finding what they came looking for and even stuff they weren’t looking fir!

Trust this charity to follow its mission statement with dedication and integrity 100x100. The founder, David Booth, is a man I would gladly trust my life to. I have no higher compliment.

CVC is one of those great charities that does the work with humility and grace. I know them mostly through their raffle calendars but I treasure their live streams highlighting local businesses and such a worthy cause.

I think it is wonderful how Combat Veterans to Careers has been helping Veterans throughout Florida that were affected by Hurricane Ian by bringing them supplies, generators, etc.

Combat Veterans to Careers has had a huge impact on my family's life. My husband Nicholas is an Army Veteran and David has been someone stable for Nicholas to relate to and be a positive inspiration and coach for helping him get to where he wants in life. David's ambition and desire to help Veterans and their families improve their quality of life is apparent, seen and appreciated deeply. David has blessed our family by getting Nicholas a scholarship which helped us out of a tough spot financially. David also provided me personally with an employment opportunity to work alongside him and his Operations Manager, Sandee, which has drastically improved the quality of our life as a family in just a short amount of time. David and Sandee are both such hard workers and positive role models with their hearts 100% in their work. They both believe in showing up every day to put their all into a good cause and they genuinely want to see people succeed and prosper. They have been so welcoming as I came on board the Combat Veterans to Careers Nonprofit Organization and felt like family immediately. I didn't think I could accept the position as I mentioned to David I am currently homeschooling our son, and yet he encouraged me to bring him into the office to work with me, assuring me they are a family friendly workplace. David also has offered me the opportunity to go back to school and that he can help me and Nicholas start our own business. I'm not exactly sure where we would be without the support Combat Veterans to Careers has provided us with, because in a short amount of time it has changed the trajectory of our life, and now there is so much more to look forward to than I once believed possible. I am so grateful for how much has changed and continues to change for the better in our lives because of this Nonprofit. I am eternally grateful for CVC and look forward to being able to pay it forward one day. I would be ecstatic to make a small fraction of the impact I see being done at work at CVC and in my personal life by CVC daily. I am so fulfilled to be a part of this amazing organization!

I have spent the majority of my adult life helping several nonprofit organizations either through straight donations, or volunteering for events and sometimes material donations. I can tell you with 100% confidence CVC does exactly what they say and they work tirelessly to ensure that all donations go directly to the the cause. With CVC, I have donated time, money and worked with their other volunteers. Even though the footprint might look little, the effects are far reaching to post 9/11 veterans. I carry a challenge coin for CVC everywhere I go and will always support and talk about this organization with others.

Combat Veterans to Careers is such a great organization. They truly, whole heartedly help our Veterans and their families needs. Their Thrift Store, Restoring Hope, in Wildwood is the cleanest and friendliest thrift store i have ever been to! Everyone is SO helpful and their inventory is amazing, most furniture looks like new!

I have volunteered for 5 years with this organization, participating in various fundraising events. Each event is top notch involving representatives from the military community as well as other professionals. Two years ago we started a thrift store which has provided employment as well as additional funds for our client veterans and their family members. The store has a good reputation for good quality household furniture and other items needed to maintain an active household. As a volunteer it is fun to work alongside the veterans and other volunteers in the store.

My first experience with Combat to Careers was as a customer in their Thrift Store. The personnel were so accommodating and the merchandise was well-chosen and maintained. The operation was tidy and clean and delivery service was offered on larger purchases. Charles helped me find couches, chairs, and a coffee table that would work for me. My furniture was delivered on time and without a hitch. When in the store, I noticed that the volunteers all seemed happy and productive. I was new to the area and was looking for a good cause where I could contribute my time. After leaving the store, I decided to make this non-profit my chosen volunteer spot. I have been with the group several months now and admire & appreciate all that they do. I have now added them to my monthly donations list because they deserve it. A well-run organization with dedicated and skilled employees & volunteers. This is truly a place that all should visit!

Have worked alongside David. He continually shows his dedication to his fellow veterans and their families. Assisting in finding the resources needed to help them be a successful life, trade school, college, and as a couple.

I have given numerous items to CVC’s and have taken friends there to purchase items from some of the friendliest people I’ve ever seen. I have also participated in various fund raisers and it has been fun and rewarding.

I love this group. I feel our veterans deserve to come home and have a way to get back into society with dignity. I have personally seen veterans come in to our nonprofit and get the help need to become citizens in our community again . Ranging from going back to school, down to helping with house hold goods to get started again . Combat Veterans to Careers is all about helping post 9/11 veterans get back into the community by helping with education, housing, and providing support for the veteran and their family. It doesn't stop there; many of the veterans have become friends with all the volunteers who help with CVC.

This amazing dedicated organization gives honor,& support to post 911 veterans and their families. A very well deserved organization to support. CVC accepts donated, gently used household goods, furniture ,pictures, odds & ends & other items. All are cleaned, priced, & sold at the resale store which lovely is displayed. A great place to shop. The money from items sold benefits the veterans in need & their families.It is a pleasure to volunteer along side so many wonderful people, including our veterans. I have had the pleasure of knowing and volunteering with David Booth since he moved here from New York. David is totally dedicated with meeting his commitment to Combat Veterans to Careers Mission Statement for all post 911 veterans. I have known him to go out of his way to help veterans using his own funds and influence. Although he still suffers from his wounds of battle, he very seldom takes off for his own good. I have done so for 8 years and have been happy to help our Director, David Booth, raise the needed funds to help our many deserving Veterans return to a positive, happy, and healthy Civilian life. He is driven to be able to put 90% of our monetary intake into the veterans' and their families"needs each year, through many special fund-raising events--fun for the Vets, fun for the Volunteers, and fun for the generous, and loyal, participants/supporters! I cannot think of a better organization to volunteer for in that regard. David is a man who treats his volunteers

This group has been endlessly helpful in helping my husband transition from the military. They have helped with his VA rating, tuition for education, job placement, home repairs, they even helped us get our first home. And the help doesn't stop. I have had a few older veterans pass away over the few years, and the help I have received from David Booth and his manager is AMAZING. They come and help me get the items that can be donated to the right place. They have repaired some stuff that they where able to help someone in need. Resently I run a Fundraiser For Special Needs Children and David told me to come over to store and see what I could use as gifts.
I have know David now for about 9 years and his people are FANTASTIC at what they do. His manger is WONDERFUL SHE IS GEM when it comes to needing info and help.

Combat Veterans to Careers is a non-profit that provide 360 degrees of support for the veteran, spouse and children. Out of every dollar donated 91 Cents go back directly to the program. There are no administrative fees that are paid for by the donations.

As a volunteer at the Restoring Hope Thrift Store I see how caring and supportive Combat Veterans to Careers really is. Clients come and go and I witness how beneficial CVCC is to these people, many of whom rely on CVCC for guidance and support as they move from military to civilian life. As a veteran myself, I know firsthand that making the transition isn't always easy. I urge everyone to support CVCC and to visit the thrift shop located at 400 East Gulf Atlantic Highway in Wildwood, FL. Your purchases help CVCC work their magic.

I want to express my gratitude to CVC for their support to Combat Veterans. I was invited to participate in their golf tournament and it helped me to make new friends. I'm a combat veteran who benefits from the activities that CVC is able to put together. Getting out and participating is an outlet that I need so I don't fall into depression. I battled depression during my military career but now I'm able to cope with different activities offer by CVC. Thanks CVC from the bottom of my heart. Anybody thinking of supporting a non profit should choose CVC they have a heart for veterans.

From my personal experiences, I have witnessed the positive impact CVC has had with local veterans. Whether it was during an event in which they participated (i.e. the Battle Buddy Golf Tournament), or while they were working collecting donations for the CVC Thrift Store, the vets I came in contact with demonstrated pride and commitment to CVC and the great work it performs.
Another positive that may go unnoticed is the impact on awareness in our community of transitioning veterans and the work CVC is providing them. An example is the monthly event at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant. It not only raises money for CVC, it gets residents in the area involved and interacting with the vets.

i have been in plenty of local thrift shops in the area and this one by far is the most organized and cleanest of them all. everyone is very nice and always willing to help out with any questions. The best part about this shop is some of the vets that the money raised goes to are there in the store so you can see where your money goes and you know your helping a local vet

I have seen first hand how it has helped our combat veterans and their families. Our community is a special one. We have a lot of veterans who live here and want to help. Have seen the great work David Booth and his organization has done for many young men and women. They have gained confidence and excellence in the job market.

As a Vietnam combat veteran, I wish there was such a program available to Vietnam Era veterans when we finished our tours of duty. My late husband was a soldier to the core of his being. I wish we had found Combat Veterans to Careers when he was still with me. He would have so enjoyed, as I do, working with some of the veterans in CVC’s thrift store, Restoring Hope. In order to ‘give back’ and honor my husband, I started volunteering at the store last summer. I thoroughly enjoy working with some of the veterans who are in the training process for outside careers. Not many organizations give 96 cents of every dollar raised to actually benefit our veterans. This one does!!

As a retired Army Master Sergeant, David Booth recognized the need for our post 911 veterans, and formed Combat Veterans to Careers (CVC), a 501C3 tax exempt organization. Honorably discharged veterans can apply to participate in a program that provides a pathway for the veteran to achieve his/her goal. By guiding the veteran to educational resources through the GI Bill, or VA services in the nearest VA Clinic or administrative office, or entrance to a job training program, CVC has helped over 500 veterans last year to find their pathway to success. Often it requires financial discipline on the part of the veteran as that was not a problem while on active duty. There was a paycheck on the 1st and 15th without exception. Now the veteran has to earn a paycheck by working while pursuing his/her goal. CVC often assists the veteran with temporary help with rent, groceries, transportation and other assistance for daily living. However the amount of assistance is determined at the time of acceptance into the CVC family of veterans.
It is heartwarming to see these veterans and their families get on track and to accomplish their personal goals. As a volunteer for CVC, and as a retired Navy veteran, I am proud to have provided volunteer services as well as financial contributions over the last five years while experiencing the growth of CVC.

Combat Veterans To Careers has matured into a full service 360 degree service organization reaching out to Veterans all over the country. They have expanded their mission to help more people transition from military to civilian life. The maturity of this organization over the past couple has been impressive. I am proud to be associated with this organization.

Combat Veterans to Careers is a very well run and efficient organization with an extreme emphasis on the cause. Over 90% of the donations go directly to the combat veterans and their families. This is the only program that I know of that offers the full spectrum of support as combat veterans transition back home vs. just addressing one aspect.

I have watched this Organization and have participated in several of their events. CVC does an OUTSTANDING job in supporting post 9/11 Veterans with a variety of needs. Most rewarding is to talk to the Veterans and see how happy and blessed they are to have this total support. This group should be the role model for out VA. My very best to all involved.

Sometimes it is difficult to really explain how CVC makes a difference so we cite examples of how we have helped veterans and their families with medical, education, budgeting, getting jobs or finding affordable housing or helping them through difficult personal and family situations....and then measuring how many veterans and families we have helped...and how we really have more veteran needs than we have resources...but what has struck me the most is how we make a difference is what we can't measure... and that is "how many veterans have we prevented from being part of the "20 suicides a day" statistic. We can only help them as best we can, and let them know all is not lost and that CVC cares. Thanks for your support.

As a veteran that has served overseas and came back with injuries it has been a everyday struggle to fit back into the community where ever I go. CVC has helped & shown me direction in helping with the everyday adjustments in life! I would recommend that any veteran having challenges and need help, CVC is the place too be for that dedicated leadership!

I have been privileged to have been an active volunteer with CVC since 2013 and have enjoyed every minute of doing so. This organization is all for the betterment of Combat Vets, and our Director and CEO, David Booth, is dedicated to giving 90% or more of the fundraising intakes to them! The creative fund-raising events have been heavily attended and FUN! It was a pleasure for me to help organize a CVC Volunteers Social Club meeting once a month giving us an opportunity to know and relate to our fellow volunteers--and to meet the guests each one of us try to bring to these meetings as prospective volunteers-- enabling CVC to recruit many new Volunteers from this. The Vets also may attend the meetings--and they do! The Volunteers are all dedicated to helping our Vets fit back into society as they dreamed they would! Those Vets with children have aquired extra sets of Grandparents for them--some of the Volunteers, of course! I have met today's Combat Vets and the problems they encounter post military, and there is no doubt that we have to do everything we can to help them find meaningful employment, housing, and proper medical care from the VA. Freedom is NOT free. BTW, Choose Your Role is annoying in that we can be participating in multiple ways. I've donated and I'm a general member (whatever in the world Of the Public means.

I have been involved with CVC since 2013. It was started and operates from the heart not the pocketbook which helps secure it's long term success. They have established excellent local and countrywide recognition and have partnered with other successful organizations. I am honored to be involved with such a organization.

Combat Veterans to Careers is exactly that - they take our wonderful veterans who need a hand up and give them that - not just a hand out. We started as volunteers but work happened and now we are confined to donors. I can not say enough good about David Booth and his staff and his volunteers. They all give from the heart.

I've worked directly with David Booth and Combat Veterans to Careers for more than 2 years, and continue to hear incredible stories of how they are helping our combat veterans and their families return transition to a fulfilling civilian life. I have been with this organization for 4 years now and I have seen the help this organization gives to our veterans. It has helped hundreds of families. In the last month we have had 2 families purchase their own homes. Before they came to CVC their credit was awful and neither veteran or spouse had jobs. CVC was able to guide them through purchasing a home. We also have had veterans in school for fire fighting and police. 4 of them are now working at their dream job. David Booth the CEO is non-stop helping veterans. His whole life is devoted to them. CVC has a wonderful group of volunteers who are dedicated to this organization

I heard of this organization through my girl friend aunt who is a volunteer and a resident at the villages. After hearing of the passion and devotion that David Booth gives to our combat veterans I was moved to be a supporter.

I have worked as a volunteer for Combat Veterans to Careers for approximately two years. Personally, I have found the organization to be totally focused on helping veterans make a successful transition from active military service to civilian life. It has been extremely rewarding to see veterans' lives transformed into productive civilian careers. The staff are totally committed to responding to the diverse needs of the veterans they serve. Virtually all funds are expended directly into the service delivery system. The program is held in high esteem not only by the veterans it serves, but; also by the the surrounding community which often provides fund raising efforts. In a word, Combat Vererans to Careers is as top notch program with an extremely dedicated effort toward meeting its mission of successfully transitioning veterans back into civilian life. It is a privledge and honor to be a volunteer at Combat Veterans to Careers.

I am a retired Army Colonel and was looking for a worthwhile non profit organization to volunteer with, After a fair amount of research I found CVC and had to go no further.
CVC is a no nonsense organization that provides the resources for combat veterans to get an education in one of several fields which are connected to employment here in central Florida upon graduation. The basic criteria following selection is that the veteran works while pursuing his education, interfaces with the community, and supports events sponsored by CVC.
All of this is accomplished by the dedicated efforts of the leadership and a band of volunteers and with a record to date of using approximately 90% for funds collected on the Program.

CVC helps veterans every step of the way. David Booth and his team is full of great information and helps with the whole process of transitioning out of a military career to a civilian career. It is more challenging then it seems, I am very grateful for them leading my combat vet in the right direction.

This program brought my son back to me! I had to watch this AMAZING kid transition from Military to Civillian life and struggle for direction which for a mother, is debilitating. CVC gave him so much more than just finding him a job, they gave him his pride and confidence. The program holds its veterans accountable which in my experience is so important! As a soldier trying to transition back into civilian life with a family of 4 is very hard. My military experience didn't transition well into a civilian career, so finding CVC was a blessing. I talked with David over a period of a few weeks and decided to move my family 600 miles to begin in the program. CVC helped me enroll into school to begin training for a new career, found housing for my family, even had employment available when i arrived. I've been in the CVC program now for a month and couldn't be any impressed. I have to say thank you to everyone at CVC for helping not only me but many other veterans and their families. God bless CVC and god bless America.

Volunteering and interning for CVC has shown me exactly what our military veterans are facing when they get out or retire. This organization opens so many doors for veterans and their families that would not be available to them otherwise. The volunteers, staff and veterans at CVC are not just other volunteers or staff members or other veterans, they are all apart of my CVC family.

Volunteering for CVC has given me a new perspective on what our nation's veterans face as they are transitioning out of the military, in addition to giving me the ability and opportunity to feel as though I am actually helping to make a long-term difference in their lives. It's been rewarding getting to watch the CVC family grow and be able to be apart of something, as well as watch the organization touch lives of our Veterans!

I retired in July of 2011 after serving 28 years in the US Coast Guard. Serving part of my career as an instructor in the LE field as well as deploying worldwide in many joint military deployments, I was surprised how difficult finding a career after the military. I had to take contract work overseas once again leaving my family for more than a year and the stress took its toll on us all. In January of this year after email conversations with David Booth from overseas, I returned to the US and began to put in the place the plan he and I discussed for me to begin my own business. I have been accepted into EBV at Syracuse University and have been working over the past few weeks on the business we had discussed. The opportunity to once again look forward to getting up and going to work is incredible but the opportunity to be home with my family and know that I will be able to continue to provide for them is priceless. I cannot thank CVC enough for the impact they have had in helping me feel like I finally have a career that provides me the same sense of satisfaction as I had when I wore when I was serving!

I have been volunteering with various organizations over the last 25 years and I have never felt the connection I do and have the commitment I have as much as I do with CVC. I feel valued and like I am making a difference. To be able to work with the participants in the program is priceless! I am truly seeing lives change before my eyes.

Hello, My name is Mark Cosby, and I have been affiliated with Combat Veterans To Careers or (CVTC) for the past 3 years it is with great pleasure that I write this review. CVTC is the first nonprofit that takes a holistic approach to the returning combat veteran ensuring their peace of mind by offering one of a kind care. What do I mean by that? It offers 360 degrees of assistance to the service member and family. Because CVTC understands the whole family concept, The Spouse is immediately assisted in finding gainful employment, the Children are placed in Schools upon arrival, the family is placed in a safe and comfortable apartment, and if needed a vehicle is provided to ensure reliable transportation.
Now on to the Veteran! They are enrolled in a specified School designed to ensure their success, to my knowledge there is a Golf Course Maintenance program, Firefighting Academy, and the most recent addition Aviation Maintenance. As this organization continues to grow more programs and curriculums are sure to follow. I endorse this organization whole hartedly.

I have been volunteering for this organization for the past 2 years. It truly is an organization that cares about the combat veteran and his or her entire family. I have seen veterans make a 180 turn in their life. The veterans and their families are helped with education, careers, VA benefits, financial counseling and much more. 98% of the money donated to Combat Veterans to Careers goes directly to the veterans. The organization has one paid employee and over 300 volunteers.

The goal of this outstanding charity organization is to help combat veterans fit back into society after they have served our country. As a volunteer, I have had the privilege of having seen several of our Veterans bloom like a flower and grow like a tall tree while working beside them. They have now come to enjoy serving their community as they did their country. Finding homes, jobs, schools, for them and their families, making sure they keep their Dr. appointments, and holding functions to raise money to do all these things is an ongoing thing under the direction of CEO David Booth. He is also a combat Vet and works very hard helping our Vets fit back into society and wear smileson their faces everyday. This has become my favorite charity of all time, and I feel so good about it that it helps me be a better person, and has allowed me to meet very many wonderful people.

I have seen the amazing things that this organization has done for our countries veterans and their families. They have changed lives and continue to create life changing opportunities for our hero's.
